Bottle. This is a very thin stout. Tasted very metallic and kind of bloody. I don’t think Bell’s allowed this to ferment long enough, I was very disappointed.

Bottle from siciliano’s. Batch 9370. Opaque dark brown to black with creamy, medium beige head. Aroma is slightly sulphury upfront with rich roast and chocolate, dry spice. Flavor is rye spice, rich roast, cocoa, slight cold coffee, nuttiness. Medium to light, creamy body with medium carbonation. Real unique, I think this would be great BA beer if they decide to throw it in a barrel.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 alexsdad06 (2230) - Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2009
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown (deep copper when held to a light) with a small creamy beige head. The aroma was sweet with notes of caramel and dark chocolate, black coffee, and rye. The flavor is roasted malts, rye, coffee at times, and milk chocolate. This is not big in any way. Medium bodied with a creamy smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable, I’m glad to see they are making this again.

Pours a dark amber. Smells sweet, with a dough smell. Taste is sweet with a mild brown sugar bitter. Different but good. Very easy to drink more than one.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2009 I think I’m turning into a suck for rye. Sweet, malty, hoppy, flavor with some spices thrown in the mix. Different and actually quite complex. Balanced and easily drinkable.
