Bottle from after4ever. Pours a clear blackish brown with a thin off white head. Some rye shows up in the nose, along with coffee and chocolate. Medium-light body and mild carbonation. Coffee, caramel and fruit in the taste leading to a crisp finish. Sort of the robust porter of the stout world.

12-oz. Thanks, SecretSanta! This one’s a little gem. But then, I do love some rye. Nice sour nose over the top of a dark, cloudy ebony body showing a decent amount of graininess. Not too much on the body side, but the attack show some life, and the flavors swirl well from sour rye through a tangy bitter finish--the storyline is very complete from one thing to the next there. Nothing too bold anywhere, nothing too overbearing, but a nice rich beer showing a strong flavoring of a grain I’m always happy to get my hands on in a well-made beer.

Bottled. Black opaque colour, minor brown head. Aroma is roast, rye and grain. Flavour is strong roasted malts, wet wood, rye, caramel and licorace. Wellbalanced, quite complex, but still very easy to drink.

Dark almost soda like appearance - mild carbonation. Faint aroma of roasted rye. Mild taste with some rye and sweet fruit.

Bottle from the Beer Yard. Deep brownish pour with aroma of roasty malt, chocoff, slight fruit. Tastes on the dry side, with roasty malt, slight chocolate notes, and some coffee and pumpernickel bread notes.

Bottle batch #7235. Poured a black body with thin head. Aroma was of chocolate, malt, toffee, caramel. Flavor was slightly sweet and dry. The above mentioned aromas comming thru in the taste with a little spice in it. Creamy mouthfeel. Good stout.

A mild and very drinkable stout, even as a session ale. Flavor of roasty cacamel, chocolate, and some coffee (these tastes are very mild though).
