12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Review #600- by chance. I drank all the good stuff for X-mas and new yrs I guess...and missed out on a good 100+ reviews this yr as well.
A- Body is a dark, very hazy, nearly opaque cola color that pours with an approximately 1 finger cream colored head.
S-Nose is somewhat mild and the highlight is roasted malt and rye. A molasses sweetness can also be detected in the nose.
T- Mild flavors upfront consisting of rye bread and sweet malt. The finish is prominently roasted malt with a hint of molasses-like sweetness. What lingers is yeasty rye bread and a hint of roasted dark malt.
P- High carbonation and medium weight body. Overall the feel good: smooth, bready, and silky.
O- This is a solid offering from bell’s. The rye brings a nice bready quality to the stout as well as accentuates the roasted malt and barley characteristics of the brew. Bell’s offers a solid lineup-but I still have not found a Bell’s brew that really WOWs me.

Appearance is cola black with a thin, quickly dissipating head. Aroma is incredibly strong rye with some light smoke and roast notes. Taste is a very, very heavy dose of licorice, lightly sweet, somewhat bitter, finishes somewhat cola/chocolate. Nicely carbonated, medium feel, good on the tongue. Overall, a well crafted beer with well-executed flavors that I’m just not a big fan of.

Pour is a deep brown body with a tight ring of bubbles around the edge. Licorice is prominent with chocolate right behind. Easy to drink.

Tap at the Brickhouse BBQ - So I’m not a huge fan of rye, but this was pretty good. Pours deep and dark with a small white head. Smells smooth, milky, and nutty with a touch of chocolate, slight hops, and rye. Tastes smooth and nutty, with chocolate and hazelnut. Rye comes in on the finish and integrates well with the roast flavors. Carbonation bites a bit, but it’s smooth.

Pours deep brown with a thin light tan film in place of a head. Nice full nose of chocolate and some zesty rye. Same in the flavor with a tangy rye grain standing out with bready malt accenting. Medium mouthfeel.
