COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An abundance of rye grains provide a spicy twist to otherwise traditional stout flavors. A unique approach to an entirely new style of stout.

Very pleasant aroma of sweet chocolate, toffee, rasberries and cherries. . . Great roasted malt flavour, good balance of bitter coffee and chocolate with cherries and subtle campfire.

Dark brown color, tan head. Light coffee and a touch of grass/grain in the aroma. Hoppy, long roasty/toasty finish.

This was a very nice brew. Pours thick giving an almost opaque brown color in the glass. Flavors of chocolate, nuts, whole grain bread, and coffee. Nice mouthfeel with a dry, lingering finish.

Served from a 12 oz bottle form Crown in Indy. The appearance is a deep ruby brown with a medium tan head. A nice sweet malty nose with a subtle spicy note and some rich dark chocolate. The flavors are hard candy-like chocolates, almost like a tootsie pop, grainy rye almost woodness. Very tasty. The mouth is a little more carbonated then I would prefer. The spice tones of the rye add to the effect more too. Medium bodied.

Similar to Bell’s november stouts. Traditional dark roasted nose and flavor. However, this was not as bitter as some of the other Bells stouts. One of my favorite seasonal stouts of this brewer.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2006 Dark brown color with a small tan head. Roasted coffee aroma. Flavor of roasted coffee and miky malt. Smooth and very drinkable like most Bell’s beers.

pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head. aroma is slightly coffee-like and malty. flavor has the whole sweet/sour thing going on...with the coffee sweetness and some yeasty sourness thing..somewhere in the middle of trumpeters and the oatmeal.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a small white ring of fiz at the top. Aroma: Slightly smokey roasty rye malt and old musty books found in a damp basement. Taste: Burnt and roasted malt. Finishes like cold black coffee. Mouthfeel: Low carbonation and full bodied. Overall: I liked this beer, but wouldn’t drink it by itself again. I would enjoy it much more with a hearty meal. It is very dry, so it doesn’t have to be paired with dessert.
