Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is faint with rye and burnt coffee. Flavors are roasted malt, cocoa and rye. Soft creamy mouthfeel. Another Bells stout hits the spot, what else would you expect?

Dark brown pour, light seeps through. Almost cola colored. Aroma of rye, smoke, a bit of chocolate. Flavor is strong rye, dark chocolate, Smooth flavor of dark chocolate and strong, bitter rye. I like that the rye is pronounced and strong. Great offering from Bell’s.

On draft at a bells event. Nice dark brown almost black pour with a good but unfortunately fast fading khaki head. Not much lace. The aroma is very roasty. The flavor is as well with some nice vanilla notes, and the stout backbone is certainly very sufficient. Hint of hops in the flavor. Medium body with medium carbonation on the palate. Overall: this beer was simple but nice.

I’d like this to have a higher overall rating than a 3.5, because I do think it’s better than that. But, not much aroma, thin head that receded quickly. Sweet slightly thick flavor, not sure quite where the rye kicks in but it’s not your traditional roasty flavor. Pretty darn decent.

Bottle via trade as an extra thanks to kramer. Pours just about pitch black with a small but thick tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is really roasty with coffee and lots of dark rye bread. A little metal. Flavor is burnt dark rye toast, coffee, and slight metallicity. Pretty tasty despite the metallic notes, but not quite one of my favorites from Bell’s. Fairly full body and a fairly slick mouthfeel. Somewhat low carbonation. A solid offering overall.

Tap at the Brickhouse BBQ - So I’m not a huge fan of rye, but this was pretty good. Pours deep and dark with a small white head. Smells smooth, milky, and nutty with a touch of chocolate, slight hops, and rye. Tastes smooth and nutty, with chocolate and hazelnut. Rye comes in on the finish and integrates well with the roast flavors. Carbonation bites a bit, but it’s smooth.
