3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 16, 2006
Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Black with creamy beige head. Burnt aroma of bread and prunes. Dryish with a surprising fruity touch. Medium bodied with spritzy mouthfeel, light notes of nutes and blackberries. Doesn’t have the roastiness usually associated with stouts. Lightly salty finish. Surprising in every aspect.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Inveigler (371) - Ferndale, Michigan, USA - MAR 10, 2003
Appearance is murky smoked brown during the pour, but sits black in the glass. Sort of a nutra-sweet aroma with some roastedness. Sweet, but strangely so … I cannot really put a finger on the flavor … perhaps burnt citrus? Ends with a strange back of throat sourness. Probably my least favorite of the Bell’s Stout lineup.

Very smooth and easy to drink for a stout. Coffee overtones that aren’t too overbearing.

A deep dark brown stout with ruby hues, and big floaties, with a thin creamy moka head. A strange concoction of coffee, metallic notes, and potted meat. In mouth, a restrained sweet chocolate, with light bitter notes, a bit buttery. Medium bodied. Tasted Dec. 2006.
