COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Café. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.

Bottle in cold mug on a hot day. Right off sharp refreshing and a little spicy. Slight malt wheat. I'm not a grapefruit fan but it's slight mixed in a pleasant way. A citrus blend. Sure, some rye in there. And a bit off hops. I'm all in on this summer brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to shaker. Pours hazy golden, two finger white head. Aroma of grapefruit, honey, floral. Taste is slightly sweet from the barley malts, peppery overtones from the rye and earthy/citrus bitter. Medium body, slight resin notes, high carbonation. Finishes bitter sweet up front and citrus, earthy that linger. This is good pale ale!

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Slightly hazy golden color with a nice steady white head and many tiny bubbles. Floral nose, with herbal notes, light fruitiness and faint spice. Sweetish fruit (peach, apricot), light malt, pleasant hop flavor (citrus), medium bitterness. Quite effervescent, somewhat dry, refreshing and fun.

Hazy gold with a nice foamy head. Aroma citrusy and flowery, with a hint of yeast and spice. Taste citrusy and first, spicy, firmly bitter. Despite the claim of being a "plae ale" this could have easily passed for an IPA. Nice clean and refreshing.

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Hazy yellow. Pleasant aroma of citric and floral hops. Flavor has light grainy maltiness, a bit of rye spiciness and nice citric hops with lingering bitterness. Medium-bodied. Nice and crisp.
