COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Café. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.

bottle. light hazy to this gold colored beer with a big, whipped, white head. grassy and lemony hop aroma. nice beer man. medium carbonated palate with a medium-full bodied beer. grassy hops provide a clean, dryish finish. high quaffage. the palate and carbonation level are standout features. refreshing summer beer.

Love the appearance on this one, cloudy light yellow with a super frothy sticky white head. Aroma of wet grains, bitter flowers, and some bright citrus. Flavor follows, but that bitterness upfront is a bit of a kick, and follows to more vitamin C like bitterness in the finish, nice floral and citrus notes, rye plays well here. Body is fluffy and light, easy drinking.

24 karat pour with a sizzling ivory head that leaves nothing but a wispy white aftermath. Spicy rye, biscuit, honey, black pepper, lemongrass and grapefruit pith. Flavor lingers on the palate. Not bad.

Aroma is rye malts and citrus. The flavor is citrus, mildly spicy rye, hints of hop resin and grapefruit and a dryish/bitter finish.

Pours a hazy orange with sizeable white head...nose has a big floral aspect along with some citrus and a nice malt backing. The rye malt really contributes on the taste...spicy kick along with a biting citrus hop finish. Good brew...don’t really understand all of the low scores

Draft served in a pint glass at The Lackman. Pours a semi-cloudy golden color with a finger of white head that takes a while to go down. Aroma of fresh floral notes, citrus fruits (lemon and tangerine), faint malts, and an understated rye note. The flavor is mostly the same; floral, citrusy, and maybe a little more spicy than the nose. Fresh and clean. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Enjoyed this one. Underrated.

Rich golden pour with lots of head and even more lace. Hop. A lot of hop. Some citrus and pine or grass. But hop dominate

Good crisp ale. Golden in color and rather clear. Good forming head with good lacing. Crisp dry hopped taste. Good ale.

Resin taste and toasty. Finishes very dry. All of the hop flavor is in the finish. Great golden color and head on pour. Delicious.

Nothing special, but is pleasant to drink. Grainy, slightly sweet and pretty bitter. More sweetness in aroma than flavor. Dry finish.
