3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours golden, with a thin head and lots of floating sediment. There isn’t enough carbonation to circulate the sediment around, so the overall effect is kind of unattractive. Sort of a skunky aroma, with notes of hops, citrus, and tobacco. The flavor is light, with citrus hops and a bit of a bready finish. Not too rye-forward. I always get excited whenever I see a new Bells beer, but this one was a letdown.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, dark golden body with a tall, growing, near white head.
Smell: The aroma is weak, hesitant, with a faint degree of maltiness, a touch of rye grain, and a some dried flower petal undertones.
Taste: A little toasted grain to the maltiness, with a definite rye kick to it. Very low sweetness on hand. Firmly floral throughout. Medium bitterness. Some sustained spiciness on the bitterish, bone dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: I found it to be tiresome and tedious, frankly.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle---> tulip. Pours a light orange/gold with a half finger head and good spidery lace. Aroma is quite grainy with mild citrus. Tastes kind of bready with good rye presence and spice, good malt balance without being too sweet. Medium mouthfeel with a bit of dryness. Very easy drinking beer that you could drink all year long.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft .....Appearance as in the name is golden. Very cloudy modest head which does not stick around for long
The aroma is yeasty with some citrus
The taste is a touch sharp with a lingering bitterness. No real presence of the citrus aroma. No strong rye notes which was disappointing.
The bitterness lacked much character
I had one I am not sure I would have another unless there were limited options.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance - Lots of clumps in this beer. Clearly not filtered. Otherwise, a golden color, minimal head.
Aroma - citrus notes, grapefruit specifically
Taste - Pretty heavy bitterness, light malt flavor, citrus hop flavor, and a surprisingly little amount of rye flavor.
Palate - Appropriate levels of carbonation, medium bodied beer.
Overall - Not much rye flavor and the bitterness is too intense. Easily one of my least favorite Bells beers.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce bottle. It has a daisy on the label, which left me surprised when it tasted like an APA seasoned with tobacco and aged in a leather satchel. Appearance is a dark and fizzy yellow. Aroma is mild hops and salt of the earth grains. Taste is an unexpected mix of earth, leather, tobacco, and citrus as second-player contributors. I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of this one. Palate was medium bodied and just right for pale ale. Overall, I’d happily buy a 6 pack of this to bring to a spring picnic. It has the fresh and citrus thing going on for the light-drinking crowd, and a dynamic flavor profile for the more adventurous beer tasters. Definitely worth a try, and I’d love in Kalamazoo, within a week or two of when it hits their tapline, when the hops are in their prime.
