COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Café. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.

12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. An amber pour with a ring of white head; slightly sour grainy aroma; and an earthy grainy taste, with a citrus bitterness; and a lingering toasty finish. Very pleasant.

Pours a hazy gold with decent head and lacing. Aroma is some honey and rye, pretty subdued. Taste is floral hops, honey, rye, and wheat. This is pretty good, and the bottle was 7 months old. I’d trust this one to stay tasty and fresh even after it could be considered "expired". Still, nothing to write home about - not sure if the age is to blame for that.
