Love me some rye beer but this just wasnt overwhelming. Most like a golden ale with not much going for it. A little disappointing.

Best rye ale I’ve ever tried. It’s like bread in a glass. Full and delicious!.........

Bottle. Rye and grapefruit aroma. Hazy golden body with thin lasting head. Flavor begins with hops and resin, followed by citrus and rye. Grapefruit finish with a long bitter aftertaste. A nice dry, and flavorful pale ale.

Bottle. Poured a clear yellow color with a pretty large foamy white head. Aroma was citrus notes, rye was definitely in there, some funky notes. Flavor was okay, a bit funk notes, with some rye. This was pretty good, but not nearly as good as many of the other seasonal brews that they do (see: Oberon).

Pours a nice yellowish gold color. Fruity and a slight sweet flavor that quickly gives way to a bitter dry finish.

Golden honey in colour. Bunch of sediment. Grainy notes, some honey liqour. Slight sweet tip leaping into a dry-grain and bitter finish. Decent but not my favorite Bell’s.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky golden color with lots of little floaters and a small foamy yellow-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy and a bit skunky with faint golden fruits. The flavor was dry, astringent and very bitter with a chalky presence and touches of pepper and golden fruits. Medium length dry finish of chalk and fruit. Medium body. Eh.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 pauls_parade (339) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Clear yellow, golden color (when you leave behind the huge amount of yeast and sediment) with a frothy white head that cakes the glass with lace. Big citrus and floral aroma with some spice. Light bodied, heavily carbonated and a lasting finished. Drinks pretty dry with lot’s of rye malt character which overshadows hop flavor. This is a strange brew not my favorite from Bell’s or of rye beers.

Pourer from a bottle at Five Star. Orange yellow pour with a ton of sediment and floaties. Crisp sharp bitter citrus taste. Interesting beer. The bitterness might be too much but still enjoyed

Very flavorful and complex for a pale ale - the rye really adds to the flavor. roasty, some orange, full-bodied, some cereal and could use more hops, but otherwise a very nice offering from Bells.
