Bottle: The aroma has a good dose of citrus, cotton candy, light grapefruit, and rye. It pours a mostly transparent golden-orange, but there is quite a bit of sediment that makes it somewhat hazy. It has a two finger off-white head with decent retention and some spotty lacing. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit and a touch of rye. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, I haven’t been a big fan of Rye IPA’s or Pale Ales, but I like this one better than most.

Mild almost tiny citrus flavor. Rye flavor also very small but builds to a long finish almost a minute after tasting. A cool smooth pale ale

Orangish/yellow in color with thin head. Lots of floaties in the beer, which was a bit of a turnoff. Flavor is dry and bitter with nice rye spice profile. Decent rye brew.

On tap at Bennos. Poured clear golden-orange with a white head that hung around for a while, leaving good lacing. Aroma has some citrus, some graininess and some herbs. Taste is of light citrus, a tangy herbalness, somewhat peppery, and a bit of pine. Light to medium body and a little bit sticky and quite dry. Finishes herbally bittersweet without much length. An interestingly flavored easy drinker.

Bottle. Moderate grain for the malt, herbs and lemon for the hops, light soap for the yeast. Head is average size, creamy to frothy, off-white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear amber. Flavor starts lightly acidic, and finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a soft to lively carbonation. This Special Grain Beer is somewhere between light and refreshing and thick and rich.

Im not a rye ale fan but it does produce a perfect head and looks the way a beer should. I mostly appreciated the head and color dumping into the sink.

Very cloudy and gold in color. Can see the floaties in this one. Produces very large head. Smells strong like rye. Good aftertaste. Easy to drink. Really liked it.

Great rye pale ale. Enough hops to cut the rye. Very well balanced. Like what the rye brings to the pale ale. Very crisp and bright.
