3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The renamed and now bottled "Golden Rye." 6% ABV. Nose is zesty with lemon, rye spice, yeasty almost funkiness. Pours hazy to outright cloudy golden sunshine color with a fairly buoyant creamy off-white head that leaves some soapy lace. Taste is a touch sweet, pretty bitter, and a bit tart. Lighter side of medium bodied, creamy with a lengthy tingly spicy bitter finish. A nice quenching beer that as some have mentioned would be better for actual spring or summer, but itís a nice break from the bigger, darker, heavier stuff Iíve been drinking lately. Didnít quite have the pop on the nose I was looking for, but other than that, a pretty easy going beer with nice character.

Not for me. Light golden color with little to no head. Bitter going down. Bitter afterwards. Maybe I got a bad brew? Not sure I'll be trying this again anytime soon.

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy orange pour with a white head. Herbal hop aroma with some light rye malt underneath. Peppery bitter hops at the start with a dry rye malt middle and a rather dry finish. Dry rye bread aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample at the Minneapolis airport. Pale gold in colour with medium carbonation. Fairly mild aromas of lemon peel, earth, and lean grains. Balanced and easy drinking, with flavors of white grapefruit and spicy rye malt. Slightly slick mouthfeel, but the finish is grainy and sharp. Uncomplicated, but nicely drinkable. Moreish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a beautiful gold with a very nice lacing. Tastes of rye and smells the same. It drinks more bitter than most ryes I have had before. A solid beer, but just slightly above average for the rye varieties.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
At first I found it a little thin and bitter. After pouring it into a pint glass liked it a lot more. Huge white lacing on the glass. Pretty hoppy, but in more of a bitter sense. Doesnít really have that hop aroma of two hearted. I donít even know what to look for when it comes to rye in the malt bill. All and all...me likes.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
DRAFT from Tuscan in Lake Geneva (gotta love their rotating Bellís tap); pours a darkish / bright yellow with a thin head. Nose is juniper / resin and a citrus (grapefruit?) hops with a (kinda) smoothing from the rye. Not an IPA or a APA but very similar and very tasty. Will look for it at Binnyís.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is sweet hops, rye, a touch light but not bad. Appearance is as advertised, golden, somewhat dark but a thick white head. Taste is hoppy but not to an IPA, the rye spice comes in, light but solid. Mouthfeel is perfect, softer carbonation than expected and a decent thickness in texture. Not bad at all. Overall, I was not expecting it to be as good as it was, so Iím pretty satisfied.

Nice. Pale ale plus. Bit more malty than the norm; bit more flavorful than the norm. Very drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a bottle, pours a golden copper with noticeable carbonation. An aroma of citrus and earthier hops are first detected. Bringing it in, there is a medium amount of taste, a lighter body, and with some bitterness. Has a crisp, dry finish. One of the better rye beers Iíve had, but lacking in flavor in general.
