COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Cafť. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.

Hoppy resin nose. Citrus resin hops palate as well. Finish is soft bitterness. Warm weather beer. Not one of the best bells brews

Pours clear gold with a finger of white head. Aroma is orange and grapefruit citrus. Very smooth with sweet citrus notes yielding to a nice rubbery bitter bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep golden color with a large foamy white head. Notes of bread, skunky hops, brown sugar, and white citrus rind. Sort of grassy as well. Nice beer with a substantial mouthfeel.

I didnít like this too much. The rye overpowers the hops in an untasty way. Just not that good

Pours deep gold with thin white head. Just hints of the rye. I also taste a bit of apple before a nice crisp but not overly bitter finish. Very drinkable.

16 oz. can from Cash Wise Liquors in Wotford. Appearance: figner white head, golden color, clear, good lacing. Aroma: floral, caramel, grapefruit, pretty grassy hops. Palate: light body, average carbonation, bitter finish, lightly sticky texture, but mostly crisp. Taste: sweet caramel with notes of citrus into grassy and floral bitter hops with notes of grapefruit, very smooth. Overall, very smooth beer, very refreshing, nice beer.

Draft at the Urban Tavern The ale poured a clear light amber color with a thick white head and lacing. You detect floral citrus and resin on the nose. The taste is more complex with grapefruit bitterness mixed with rye spiciness. The medium body ale had average carbonation. Bitterness builds into into the finish for a bristly conclusion to a simple, easy-drinking swallow.

12oz bottle pours a semi-hazy golden/orange with a large white head. Mild orange citrus aroma with some light rye and malt. Taste of bready caramel malt with rye and hop spice with a solid hop bitterness. Very pleasant pale ale.

Can to pint glass. Citrus, bubble gum and slight perfume. Pours a slight hazy gold with pristine white head that lingers down the glass. Taste is floral with a creaminess in the finish which is quite nice. Well rounded from the rye adding nice mouthfeel.
