4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 On tap, poured into a stemmed pilsner glass. The initial aroma is a toasted rye, which fades with the head. The aroma is replaced by a lemon citrus note, followed by resin, and finally, as it settles, reaches a tropical fruit aroma. The beer pours a heavily hazy pale (some orange notes) with a generous, whitish, beat-egg whipped head. This head leaves a spider web-like ample head with really good, micro bubble retention. The head left behind is thick enough where the body isnít visible from the top of the beer. A nice balance is struck between a juicy, medium sweetness, and a dry, medium bitter. The medium body is a bit on the watery / thin side, but there is some creaminess due to the abundant fluffy carbonation. Itís a dry, crisp, clean beer. The front of this one starts with caramel malt, but turns to a grassy, floral, resin-like finish. As it warms a tropical fruit, rye bread, and light citrus flavor comes through. The beer finishes with a light, mellow rye bread and tropical fruit combination that leaves behind a similar aftertaste that kicks off strong, but tapers quickly.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance has a large off-white head, some lace and a clear amber color. Aroma is malt, hops, yeast, and a little fruit. Taste is similar to nose, bittersweet with a little carbonic tang and lingering bitterness on back of the tongue. The flavor isnít bad, just not super interesting. Body is just right. One off for me I think.

Fruity aroma. The fruity and bitter taste. OK bitterness which fills the upper part of the mouth a weak moment. Okay beer. Follow me @ Kung av Ųl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Light orange in color. Lots of citrus orange, lime and rye aroma piling up. Hops and rye duke it out on the mid palate. Rye wins out in the end. It's a great beer. If rye reminds us of winter, I wished the bright, citrusy hops would take over after the rye as a "winter to spring" continuation. But that's being picky.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of rye and citrus. Med + body. Flavor is very rye, with citrus and something earthy/floral. Malt. For a second I thought "strawberry jam". Itís towards dry, and itís pretty darn bitter. Nice rye finish mixed in with the hop.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is fairly light and smooth for a rye ale. There is a bit of cantaloupe flavor to start, followed by dry APA-type hops. I tasted a little grapefruit and tobacco also. It is easy going, but not bland - a nice new release from Bellís.
