(tap) clear orange amber colour with a small tan head; aromas of smoke, noble hops; well balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish; nice lager, only a hint of smoke

Smokey is right. In taste and aroma. Reminds me of a cabin up-north with a fire place or wood stove. As a lay-man when it comes to beer descriptions. Really liking this brew.

On tap at Eccentric. Pours a good with little head and little aromas. Flavor is murky lager with a tinge of smoke that grows in the finish, but this beer ain’t for me. A little like a Yuengling or something like that with some bacon bits.

On tap at Papago pouring up with a crystal clear copper body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up light smokiness and sweet Pilsner like malts and faint vague to floral hoppiness. The taste is smooth with a light bacon smoke sensation and then sweet Pilsner malts. In the background the floral hops are noticed. I enjoy how this lager stays away from being too sweet and it has a pleasing level of smokiness that is fully restrained and integrated. Well done.

tectactoe (1941) - Michigan, USA - NOV 20, 2013
Tap: deep amber, nearly copper with great clarity; thin, off-white film recedes to a thin ring in a few moments. Aroma is lightly sweet smoke, campfire wood, mild toasted bread, & a bit of graininess. Light, but it accentuates the smoked malt. Taste is a blanket of crisp lager yeast & bread covered with light smoked malt, subtly sweet. A hint of meatiness from the smoke, but more of just a liquid smoky flavor. Crisp malts & a light hop bitterness in the finish, making for a nice base. Doesn't compare to, say, Schlenkerla's helles, but this is still a very solid smoked lager.

Draft to taster at Eccentric Cafe. Looks good for the style; a transparent light golden orange with white lacing. Smells doughy and mildly smokey. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Okay.
