GABF 2013. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a light tan head. Spritzy, raspberry, blackberry, lemon, honey aroma. Well carbonated. Juicy berry, raspberry, a bit spicy hoppy flavor. Super easy to drink. Fun beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Tap: Ruddy. rusty copper and dingy ruby-red with a haze all throughout; not as big of a head as expected for a tripel. Aroma includes clove, mint, white pepper, light fruit skins & esters - plenty of Belgian yeast. Raspberry addition is there, lightly sweet but also a little medicinal & chalky. A little contrived. Borderline tartness on the nostrils. The taste of the raspberry is much better than the aroma, a little more pure. A touch of tartness, good sweetness. Raspberry juice, light berry jam, backed with earthy esters, clove, pepper spice, and lots of phenol alcohol flavor. A touch of chalkiness in the aftertaste. Without that chalky aromatic note, this beer could be great. As it is, itís still pretty tasty, however.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had on-tap at Bellís Eccentric Cafe.
From what Iíve read, this is simply a combination of their Sparkling Ale and Raspberry Ale. Looking at Bellís Draft List cam picture, it looks like this is 7 point something percent ABV. Iíve never had either of the aforementioned beers, so this whole thing was new to me. I found that cold out of the tap, this didnít have much of a fruity aroma. After it sat for a bit and warmed up, raspberry notes came out and it came apparent that there was a lot of fruit in this beer. Thereís really not much hop bitterness to speak of, but I wasnít expecting it, given the name. This also has a pretty decently high amount of carbonation, which makes sense, since the name is Sparkleberry. Overall, a pretty tasty beer, but not exactly my thing. Good enough to have again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft pour at GTMW 2013. Pours a hazed amber with a small white head. Once again, my late-festival notes are shaky. "Good fruited Belgian." Thanks for that insight. Sweet malts, with the raspberry not as prominent as Iíd expected. Dry and malty, with medium carbonation and a medium-level mouthfeel. Good beer, fun concept.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Maduroís pre-GTMW party - Pours amber with a thin white head. Nose is dry raspberry, mineral, some honey bready malt beneath a little spicy mouthfeel. Taste is dry raspberry, a bit of bitter, unripe fruit, and a touch of honey bready malt. Real effervescent with a light fluffy body.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Maduro pre-GTMW party 2013. Filtered copper-orange body, big foamy off-white head. Very mellow, delicate beer. Light cloudy raspberry Wit maybe, but has some interesting spicy yeast tones. Not unlike Rubeaus, with lots of real raspberry flavor. Comes off quite light to me after the BB 9000 I had before it. Clearly has some depth though. An OK beverage, but not such a phenomenal beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft on tap at Maduro (Madison, WI). Pre GTMW 2013. Pours a nice deep orange glowing hue, firm haziness is pleasant, deep orange amber glow with a frothy whitish head atop. Dies to a filmy layer, laces ok. Aromas are gentle spice, grain and straw meet a bit of pulpy raspberry. Light juiciness, mellow earthy hops, bit of spice and cool malty sweetness. Initial is lighter end of the fold, well carbonated and effervescent with lively yeast, dryness, some raspberry skin. Some gentle pulpy sweetness, a touch seedy with firm bready malts, lively carbonation and gentle yeast. Bready malt, straw. Middle is gentle sweetness, touches of fruit. A firmer dry and carbonated backend, gentle spice, lingering berry. Clean yet a bit strong on the ABV. Some dryness, gentle spice and yeastiness. Mellow warmth is apparent. Like a raspberry stong Belgian, a bit warm but decent. Nose was nice.
