4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 boFNjackson (2704) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 30, 2012
Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting... A golden/orange pour with a thick forming white head. Huge yeast esters and spices on this one. Nice hop character, citrus, spruce, cloves, and a hint of alcohol while the yeast dried out the finish allowing it to go down quite east. A solid American made Belgian Ale.

On tap at a sports bar in Macomb, IL (really wish I’d paid attention to the name). Pours a clear, slightly dark gold with standard white head. Some fruitiness with more floral hops in the finish. Some nice fruit notes, but this is missing the spice you’d expect and want in a triple. Minimal yeast too.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jstraw (1094) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Draft at Jerry’s. Gold with big, foamy, white head / Clean, modest, nose of banana and spice / Medium body, creamy, and sweet, with balance towards malty and long, sweet, finish / Fat flavors of banana, orange, coriander, and clove / Tough to grade. As a tripel it’s mediocre, lacking any hoppy character, but as, say, a hefeweizen, it is excellent.

Pour light golden carbonated color. Very light aroma. Light, not overly carbonated taste with malty tones that leave a smooth palate. Very nice flavor/taste.

Pint at the Repub. Pour is a crystal clear light gold with a spare head that fades quickly to little lacing. Aroma is primarily sweet white grapes, with a faint cracker malt presence, as well as a touch of belgian yeast. Taste starts out nice, with more sweet white grapes backed by a fair light malt backbone, but right when I expect the belgian esters to hit, it just dies. OK, easy drinking, light on the palate with a crisp finish, but the weak finish really hurts this one.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 arminjewell (2442) - Parker, Colorado, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Pour on tap at the Happy Gnome, clear yellow-orange with white head brings an aroma full of citrusy and white fruits with orange, pear, apricot and peach, some slight bubblegum, hints of biscuit, toffee, and slight spice. Taste is a nice sweet but balanced mix of caramel and white fruit, pear and peach mainly mix into a slight earthy tone, slight cracker notes finish fairly sweet with hints of spice to dry it out. Nicely done.
