markwise (195), Orlando, Florida, USA Feb 26, 2008 Creamy golden color once poured, virtually no head. This is a great American Trippel, not as good as some of the Belgians, though. It has a great aroma of caramel and some fruit. Finish is a bit dry, but this is a good occasional beer.
DrBayern (877), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jun 29, 2008 12 bottle, courtesy Doboy - thanks Ed, on 6/29/2008.
Aroma - Light stone fruit, lemon, honey, and some peppery spice.
Appearance - Light yellow gold, medium frothy head, but it deflates quickly, leaving sparse lace.
Flavor - Fruity and light toffee sweetness starts off, and a very spicy and pleasant bitterness sets in quickly. A slight tartness also reveals itself in the background.
Palate - Light to medium body and a fairly assertive effervescence that adds to a dry and clean mouthfeel.
Overall - Dry, refreshing, a lot of spiciness, noticeably better as it warms a bit, with the fruity flavors coming through, and the harshness subsiding. jeremytoni (526), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2008 From a bottle poured a clear light amber color with a small head. Nice spicy flavor with a lingering finish. michael-pollack (1292), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2008 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of yeast, spices, apples, cloves, and fruit. Poured yellow/urine/apple juice in color with a small white head that disappeared quickly. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Full of small and medium-sized particles. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, yeast, fruit, apples, cloves, pepper, spices, and herbs. Medium body. Oily, then chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, malty, spiced finish. Alcohol is well hidden. phishpond417 (1110), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 24, 2008 Another impressive beer from the folks at Bells. This beer pours a golden colour with a slightly orange tint. Small creamy white head reminiscent of whip cream. Aromas are of light fruit flavor, peach, pear and oddly enough a little chives. Earthy in taste, sweet malts, alcohol and green tea. Plenty of carbonation, silky and virtually flawless. Nice job guys! decaturstevo (1095), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jun 23, 2008 A very clovish aroma. A straw gold pour with thick tight head and lace. Clowing sweet maltiness followed by a solid warmth and a light pleasant bitter finish. Carbonattion and mouthfeel are solid. Lingering sweet flavor that lasts.
