First stout of the night courtesy of Zeswaft. Very dark pour, tiny bubble tan head. After drinking Bud light all day, the chocolate and nutty aroma was a welcome change. Very smooth taste - definitely a great stout.

Pours black with dark brown head. Aroma is a little rusty, flavor is chocolaty coffee with some fruit notes, but reduced itself to a bit of a steel taste on the palate. Decent beer.

Black color; thick creamy head. Soft cheesy aroma. Sweet malty taste, very smooth, with a lot of caramel and some liquorice. Very good.

Bottle - Pours thick and deep dark brown with very thin dark tan head that vanishes almost immediately. Aroma is sweet malty chocoalte. Palate is silky smooth with medium thickness. Taste is roasted black coffee with bitter chocolate on the finish. Another very good stout from Bells.

I think the palate is the real draw on this one. VERY smooth. Nice maltiness. Not quite the backbone of the Kalamazoo or Expedition but nice and rich nonetheless.

bottle. Pours a super deep red with a dark tan head that slowly fades away. The nose is thick and almost wheaty with sweet chocolate undertones and a bit of coffee. Wow! Gets better upon tasting. The coffee-esque bitterness is very appropriate against the creamy sweet malts. The finish brings out a little of that faintly vegetal note I’ve noticed in their rye stout and more predominantly in their porter, but it’s not bad, I probably only noticed it because I was specifically weary of it after the porter. A minute or two after taking a sip, milk chocolate flavor really takes over. Great sweet stout that doesn’t go so far as to become cloying.

Black with carmel highlights, small layer of coarse tan bubbles. Heavily toasted bread, sweet cream, coffee, clean applewood smoke. Clingy coffee roasted bitterness, bittersweet chocolate. A little vegetal muskiness to begin with, but it seems to go away after a few sips. A little sweetness but not at all cloying. Pleasantly soft, mouthfilling palate. A little rough to begin with, but it evens out and ends up being a nice roasty and pleasant stout.

Bottle. Pours dark amber black with thin, quick tan head. The aroma is roasty with some milk-chocolate notes, and maybe some nuts. The flavor is much the same. Roasty with a nut undertone and some bitter milk chocolate. Somewhat ashy finish.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle dark brown to black very warm in taste amlty rcih with toffee notes very full body and great aftertaste

Bottle. Almost black in colour with medium brown head. Malty, roasted and sweet. Raisins and dried fruits. Nice and creamy with lingering aftertaste.
