tasted as part of a Bellís flight at Zillies. Really solid stout. pours black with a bit of lacing. low carbonation, good mouthfeel. all the right dark flavours- especially chocolate. like dessert in a glass. nice that itís bit more mellow than the expedition- could actually drink a bottle of this one. maybe my favourite of the tasting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a nice dark brown with a very thin head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is sweet with chocolate, hints of cream and roasted almond. Taste comes on roasted malt with an excellent finish of creamy chocolate. Medium body with low carbonation. I am a big fan of Bellís as a brewery and this dessert stout does not disappoint. Recommended indeed.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle. The pour is a lighter black or maybe dark brown. There is a thin light khaki head that fades quickly to a film, leaving hardly any lace on the side. The aroma is definitely great. There is a sweet creamy front, and then it fades into a roasty maltiness that's enjoyable. The flavor is roasty up front, and then fades through to a creaminess that you just don't see in a lot of stouts. The mouth feel is a little light but the finish is a tad dry and good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours deep deep brown with a foamy tan head that fades to a finger or so. Aroma is creamy roast malts and slighty bitter. Taste is creamy smooth and very mild - a bit milky/thin-watery. Not a ton of flavor depth. Roasted malts with chocolate and coffee vanilla cream. Again mild. Aftertaste is slightly bitter roast malt with a sense of cream but mouthfeel is more skinny than creamy. Not nearly as good as Expedition but easygoing and drinkable.
