3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 On tap, poured into a snifter. The aroma is pretty much the same as you’d get from freshly baked brownies. There’s a touch of a licorice aroma late, but still pretty much brownies throughout. It’s a dark, nearly opaque mahogany brown color, with a light, tan soapy head and a medium thick, big soap bubble ring. A dense, sheet-like lace is left behind on the glass. The taste is a medium high sweet and medium bitter. Much as the name would imply, this beer is creamy with a silky/creamy carbonation and a medium-full body that brings to mind German Chocolate Cake. Smokey notes with cola and licorice join the chocolate at the finish with a zesty spicy swell. It’s surprisingly dry for a creamy stout, with a slightly astringent, burnt cookie / brownie and cola aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown with a thin off white head that dissipates quickly leaving little lacing. Very mild aroma with notes of vanilla and malt. Thinner mouthfeel than I expected. Coffee and chocolate notes with a toasty aftertaste. Not bad, but thin for a cream stout.
