From bottle. Poured dark brown, but not completely opaque. Chocolate, malt aroma. Medium sweetness. Finish was somewhat creamy / somewhat sticky. It was OK, but I’d choose a lot more stouts over this one.

Pours black with tan head fading to a strong lace. Good oak notes balance bittersweet chocolate. Strong velvet cream mouthfeel.

What a wonderful stout! Beautifully chocolatey goodness. Wonderful creamy texture and a Goldilocks texture (not-too-thick, not-too-thin) makes for a great beer. Aroma leaves some to be desired, though. Very little nose at all.

This beer rules and is a good starter for anyone who hasn’t had a stout or are not big fans of the style. Bottle. Pitch black with milky aroma and a hint of chocolate. Taste is a hint of creamy chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, sugar. Not overly sweet though just good flavor used sparingly. The palate on this beer is so smooth and creamy, cloudy like, fluffiness. A complex and interesting stout made by Bells, and I wouldn’t expect anything less.

BOTTLE: 6150. Dak pour with excellent beige head and lacing. Aroma is strong roasted coffee. Flavor is somewhat mild but delectable. Livens up the mouth with a short finish. Very drinkable but not very complex or robust.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours out black with a small tan head. Aroma is slightly sweet, with notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, chocolate with a creamy vanilla taste also present. Pretty damn good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was batch 7808 so that makes it about 8 months old.
A: Dark black with ruby notes and a dark mocha head. I served it in a Sam Adams glass.
S: Dark roasted malt and chocolate dominate the aroma. There is a bit of sweetness, probably lactose, that is typical of this style.
T: This is a pretty sweet beer but with roasted malt in the background. The sweetness is definitely lactose and right in line with the style.
M: Medium to heavy bodied and just how i like it.
D: A pretty good Cream Stout all around. Damn, I wish Bell’s was closer...

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not special at all in my opinion. Not bad, but definitely not special. Creamy texture for sure with a nice fluffy head that stuck around for a while. Not as sweet as I expected, definite notes of chocolate and coffee but not at all strong or up front. Kinda subtle even.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark Pour. High head. Roasty, caramel, slight bready aroma. Medium body, would have preferred more body. Roasty, chocolate, coffee, faint burnt with a smooth and creamy texture from the lactose sugars. Very tasty beer. Highly recommended for stout lovers.
