Roasty smells. Dark, it is a stout. The head is oily. The taste is pretty sweat and roasted. It feels a little too fizzy on the tongue. It is what it is, if you like lots of cream, then you will like this.

Pours almost black with a dense foamy head. Aroma is of a smoky coffee with a hint of chocolate. Palate feel and taste is a creamy smoky aftertaste that stays with you until sip.

Bottle. Aroma: Caramel, roasty, sweet, with notes of coffee and chocolate. Appearance: Pitch black, with dark tan, creamy head. Taste: Sweet, malty flavor, with vanilla and coffee notes. Palate: Very pleasant, soft carbonation, fully body, and astringent, long, slightly sour finish. Solid stout with great, full flavor and a wonderful feel on the palate. Would be great on a cold day. Average drinkability, but a real treat as a one-off beverage.

pours a very dark brown, tons of creamy head... nose of a typical stout, nothing special.

Sweet on the nose, sweet on the taste. Good cream stout. Wish it was a little thicker.

Typical opaque brown/black color for a good stout. Not as robust flavor as some of the premier stouts, say medium sweet, I liked it. A quick fizz for a stout, but not too distracting. finishes smooth.

Shows roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee flavors. Very little carbonation, no head, with an extremely smooth mouthfeel. An excellent all around stout.

Bottle. Poured near black with big light brown head that stuck to the glass. Very nice lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, chocolate, and milk. Had a roasted malty flavor. The palate was thick and creamy. A very good beer from Bell’s. And I love the label.

BlackSwan (24) - Frisco (Dallas), USA - MAY 4, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2011 Pours a dark brown body with a small creamy head. Aroma is burnt with chocolate, toffee, and cereal. The mouth feel is full in body and high in warmth with a medium finish. Flavor of dark chocolate, toffee, and nuts...

Pours very dark with a small tan head. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, some coffee. Balanced. Sweet but not overpowering. Understated alcohol with a smooth pleasantly bitter finish. Very nice and I’ll say it again: balanced.
