3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with dark brown head. Aroma is a little rusty, flavor is chocolaty coffee with some fruit notes, but reduced itself to a bit of a steel taste on the palate. Decent beer.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to pint glass. Dark opaque appearance, light tan head. Sweet malty aroma. Smooth milk upfront, light roasted coffee aftertaste. Not a miss, but was looking for more robust flavor. Average overall

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap very dark with little head. Taste is very rich malt with chocolate and coffee. Smooth and thick with just enough bite to keep things interesting. A great beer.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2010 Incredible creamy stout flavor. Perfect amount of roasted grain flavor for me in a creamy covering. Shockingly better than I thought.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very very dark brown with a little bit of red. Tan head leaves quickly. Decent lacing down the glass. Aroma is of chocolate and maybe some burnt plum pudding. Also maybe a little chocolate milk smell if that makes any sense-- but in a good way, at least to me. Taste has lots of bitter chocolate, a bit of coffee. There’s definitely some alcohol in there. Nice lasting, bitter chocolate aftertaste. Didn’t seem exactly sweet to me, but not dry either. Whatever it is, I liked it.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
First stout of the night courtesy of Zeswaft. Very dark pour, tiny bubble tan head. After drinking Bud light all day, the chocolate and nutty aroma was a welcome change. Very smooth taste - definitely a great stout.

On tap @ Sergios World Beers. Pours opaque black with a tall tan head. Roast aroma with some toasty notes in the aroma. Full-bodied mouthfeel, rich roasty, malty, chocolately flavors with an underlying sweetness. Long finish of all those flavors. One not to pass up.
