Sweeter and smoother than Kalamazoo Stout. A beer for special winter occasions. Great with chocolate desserts. Available October-March.

Quite sweet and very complex stout. Not quite as good as the Expidetion Stout but better than most of Bellís other stouts.

Well Iím usually a big fan of the íZoo. But I couldnít really understand where they were trying to go with this ísweetí stout. It is smoky for sure, just like their porter, but somehow less enjoyable in this. Sure there are other qualities to this like chocolate and coffee but the smoked taste is a bit too much for me. Iíll go for their Expedition or if I want a little more sweetness, Sam Smithís Oatmeal is hard to beat.

12 ounce bottle- pours out an absolute opaque black, with an incredible syrup-like thickness. Head was almost nonexistent. Aroma was dark fruit and bog. Amazing pallet, thick and smooth Sweet and bitter at the same time, a very complex flavor mix includes cherries, toast and caramel. Rich, defines a stout.

Bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is creamy coffee with a little chocolate. Flavor is a mix of light coffee and chocolate at first, with a chocolatey finish. Nicely done.

Bottle. Pours black with a 2 finger dark tan creamy head. Smells of sweet chocholate. Exactly what the bottle says, creamy. Chocholate, little coffee, with extra creamer. Medium mouthfeel, wish i had some hersheys to go with it.

12 oz bottle. Black with a light tan head. Creamy, roasty, chocolately aromas. Roasted chocolate flavors which are very, very smooth. Very drinkable beer.

Beer pours (in Chimay glass) a pitch black oily liquid light can not penetrate with a small amount of caramel colored head. Aroma is of faint hop, molasses and strong malt (yummy!!). Flavor is of molasses, vanilla, and slight to small hops ending and faintly dry. Sampled at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

If all of the gods of all of the religions made a stout, this might be it. I rate this the best of all of the Bells beers Iíve had, or of all the beer Iíve rated probably... Vanilla aroma, pours reddish/black with tan head around the edges... not as opaque as some of the Bells beers, or other stouts. Flavors of coffee and vanilla. I guess I could see how this is a seasonal beer (probably would not rate as high in the summer)... but by the fire, or as a dessert beer, this might be hard to beat. The Kalamazoo is very good, the expedition overrated in some aspects, this is underrated by a long shot.
