Sweeter and smoother than Kalamazoo Stout. A beer for special winter occasions. Great with chocolate desserts. Available October-March.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown-black with a creamy tan head that held up well. Aroma of chocolate, black malt, coffee and sweet cream. Flavor is incredibly smooth and sweet, a hearty dark chocolate malt and cream, almost like a malted milkshake. Some light fruitiness noted, along with a hint of bitter hops. Creamy mouthfeel, would be better on tap. Finished was bitter and satisfying, slightly warming alcohol hints. A delicious sweet stout, almost as good as Kalamazoo Stout, but still a worthy contender.

Excellent beer. It is very malty and creamy, but not quite as heavy as a Guinness. There is no roasted bitterness, yet it is still malty.

Pours a relatively thick, deep brown, black in the glass. Medium dark tan head that settles quickly. Aroma is sweet and malty, with coffee and chocolate notes. Palate is only medium thick, with a fair amount of carbonation. Sweet at first but not cloying, with a crisp finish. A lot of roasted coffee and molasses taste on the end. Pretty good, nicely smooth.

Inky black with a thick, mocha head. Roasted/burnt malt prominent on the nose and palate. Rich mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. This stout is a crash course on malt! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a nice dark brown with a very thin head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is sweet with chocolate, hints of cream and roasted almond. Taste comes on roasted malt with an excellent finish of creamy chocolate. Medium body with low carbonation. I am a big fan of Bell’s as a brewery and this dessert stout does not disappoint. Recommended indeed.
