3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I remember trying this one before and couldn’t figure why this brew had such high reviews. I decided to give it another try, with the same results. There is a lot of complexity to this beer but the finish completely threw me off. A sour metallic taste is about the best way I can put it. A different finish would have sent this one into the 4+ rating for sure.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Jet black but with a short-in-stature, short-lived head. Has a mildly astringent aroma that defies characterization, probably due to its combination of 10 different malts. A very balanced stout, not too sweet, hardly bitter, that does not have an explicit and defining chocolate or coffee flavor, though both are present. Very drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Huele a chocolate y un poco de cafe. Sabe igual, con demasiado cafe pa’ mi. De todas formas sabe riquisima y es tan suave como indica su nombre.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an opaque dark brown-black, with a light tan head. Sweet aroma with notes of sugar, vanilla, and caramel--almost reminscent of a cream soda or root beer. Taste is of burnt malts at first--smoky. Opens up to reveals some choclatey subtlety--but retaining a relatively roasted character. Mouthfeel is rather watery, a bit thinner than one might expect. But it doesn’t detract from the experience. In summary, another excellent stout from Bell’s--the aroma is at odds with the taste, but both are worthy.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours as black as coffee and makes a nice tan head. Aromatics are dense of rich roasted coffee beans and chocolate. Flavor is quite large, with more roasted malt character, coffee and chocolate in the blender making me a mocha surprise. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky on the palate. This is a nice drinkable stout... its really similar to a homebrew porter that I made, so I am stoked!!!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours out like old tar combined with my grandfathers old engine oil. Very creamy look to it with a caramel color head. Hints of wood, chocolate, coffe compliment this beer. Very light sweet after taste which is refreshing to the palate.
