Wow. Bells hit a home run again; they’re so good at making stouts and porters......this one’s so creamy, I expected it to be cloudy white with whipped cream in it. great roasted flavors, subdued bitterness, ends with a mild hop flourish and lingering roasted maltiness. Excellent.

Tasted at the Great Madison St. Stout Off, from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Loved the fresh cream aroma off this and this one is smooth and sweet and flat out one of the best tasting beers Ive ever had. Light brown bubbling head on a pitch black body. This one is close to perfect for me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with dark brown head. Aroma is a little rusty, flavor is chocolaty coffee with some fruit notes, but reduced itself to a bit of a steel taste on the palate. Decent beer.

Bell’s Special Double Cream Stout - 6.1%
Had at Lititz cask ale festival 10/29/10
Soft black with small creamy tan head. Roasted coffee aroma, earthy. Extremly smooth and quite dry. Not a lot of carbonation. Tasty is creamy milk chocolate with a hint of coffee. Silky mouthfeel, I could drink a few of these if I didn’t have anything to eat.
Exceptional cream stout, well done.

Bottle to pint glass. Dark opaque appearance, light tan head. Sweet malty aroma. Smooth milk upfront, light roasted coffee aftertaste. Not a miss, but was looking for more robust flavor. Average overall

Dark pour from a bottle with about an inch of tan head. Vanilla, cream, and light chocolate on the nose. Smooth, sweet, clean stout that tastes exactly like it smells.

Great stout, very well rounded. This would have to be in my top 5 stouts
