Sweeter and smoother than Kalamazoo Stout. A beer for special winter occasions. Great with chocolate desserts. Available October-March.

Not special at all in my opinion. Not bad, but definitely not special. Creamy texture for sure with a nice fluffy head that stuck around for a while. Not as sweet as I expected, definite notes of chocolate and coffee but not at all strong or up front. Kinda subtle even.

Dark Pour. High head. Roasty, caramel, slight bready aroma. Medium body, would have preferred more body. Roasty, chocolate, coffee, faint burnt with a smooth and creamy texture from the lactose sugars. Very tasty beer. Highly recommended for stout lovers.

Pours black with thin chocolate brown head from a bottle. Roasty, malty aroma lead to a similar creamy flavor profile. Not as thick as expected, and the high carbonation was a little unpleasant to the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark brown body under a towering light brown head. Slightly slick mouth feel. Smooth going down.

Pours pitch black with a dense tan head. Aroma is rich coffee beans, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Flavor is heavy on the coffee, with a decent bit of bitter dark chocolate. The roasted malts mellow towards the middle of the glass and the chocolate comes out to play a little more. It finishes slightly sweet but plenty creamy. The mouthfeel is smooth, slick and creamy. The body is rich and the carbonation is calm and unimportant. Drinkability is okay, it's a great brew but it's heavy, thick and I have a hard time drinking multiple roasted brews like this one.

Excellent beer. Very dark almost reddish at the tip. tan head. One Of My FAVORITE BREWERIES. Tastes a bit lit milk stoudt and more sugar and malt. Amazing.

Pours jet black. extremely aggressive pour results in a hint of brown head that quick dissipates. Smells of chocolate, toffee and roasted malts. Laid back nose for a stout. Flavors of roasted coffee, nuts, semisweet chocolate. Lactose comes through strong. Mellow, laid back profile. I think it’s too light for a stout. Carbonated more then a traditional stout. Prickly and sparkly. Medium mouth feel, bit thin for a stout. Tried warming it, didn’t help.

Bottle. Poured to a dark brown with a one fingers tan head that excellently laces the glass. Nose isn’t very strong - what you can pick out is chocolate and roasted coffee, very sweet smelling. This is a very smooth brew with a lot of cream (as the name dictates,) chocolate, roasted malts and a nice, slightly bitter finish. For the complexity of this beer, it’s a little watery on the palate, but most certainly worth revisiting a few times.
