Sweeter and smoother than Kalamazoo Stout. A beer for special winter occasions. Great with chocolate desserts. Available October-March.

poured dark brown with thin creamy dark tan head that stayed around edge of glass and made for nice lacing. smelled sweet with scents of roasted mals, coffee, and chocolate. the taste was of the same with nice sweetness. a definite earthy flavor as well. an interesting brew for sure. enjoyable.

I have only yet had this on a CO2 tap but it was still quite nice, for a stout. Sweet and creamy as the name implies. Not the same depth as some of their other stouts but nice.

Bottle. Pours very dark, nearly opaque, even when held to the light. Nice thick, frothy coffee colored head that takes it’s time going down. A roasty malt and chocolate smell. My wife says ’chocolate covered coffee beans’. Nice full mouthfeel, goes down smooth. Tastes of chocolate and bittersweet tones. Good stuff, very smooth.

Bottle. Nice. special. creamy. stout-like. Buy it, it’s one of the nicest stouts you’ll ever drink. Well balanced. Not too nutty, the chocolate-flavor isn’t too strong. Delicious.

Drank a pair of bottles with my ex-boss tonight. Poured a 1-finger head, very dark. Smooth enough to almost be mistaken for an oatmeal stout, with a nice roast malt edge. Mouthfeel is wonderful, rich but not excesively sweet. A little lacing left on the glass.

Pours thick, thick black. Not much head. Flavor is sweet, malty. A very rich beer. Enjoyable, but one is enough.

Pours a very dark blown, almost black with a tan head. The taste is of light hops with a complex malt flavor of roasted malts and chocolate, the flavor is rather creamy, almost chewy.

Dark brown/black color with mocha brown head. Aroma is lighter than I expected from a double cream stout. There is some toffee, milk chocolate, and roasted malt in the aroma, but they’re more hints than reliable signposts of flavors to come. On the tongue the beer is more bold with its flavors, but they’re more subdued than they are balanced. Balanced boldness is what I wanted, but I was disappointed. The sensation of this beer on the palate are definitely pleasant and uniquely creamy, but instead of being a "wow" sensation it was more of a simple sensation of comfort. Definitely nice on a cold day.

velvety smooth, like a guinnes with a ting of carbonation. a good stout, but which it were a little more stand-outish, cheaper and higher in alcohol. i also wish there were no more world hunger, bigger airline seats and a chance to redo one event. beer, making people happy for decaded and decades.
