3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2013 Black with a tan colored head about 1 1/2 fingers worth. Aroma was mostly cocoa chocolate with some roasted malts. Flavor was sweet with milk chocolate up front with coffee following And some burnt malt on the finish. Had a thin almost water mouthfeel. Overall an ok nothing special stout.

missing an aroma for a double creme.. the head is a gorgeous off white. taste is smooth and creamy. Really well balanced, has the bitterness but is nicely balanced with sweetness. not their best beer by any means but still better than most

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark black pour foamy creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malt. Smells and tastes like a typical micro stout or poster. Coffee notes bitter at first taste. Goes down pretty easy. Pretty one dimensional it is what it is. Bitter finish takes some getting used to.

a very harmonious whole - not too thick, not too sweet but very smooth, lots of action but nothing obnoxiously dominant. wish Iíd bought a 6 and not a single

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Gnome - Pours a deep black with a small head. The nose is rich toasted malt , with chocolate, and coffee. Comes across the palate with a bit sweet before more bitter toasted malt , with hints of chocolate and coffee. The mouth feel is too tacky to be very drinkable. Nice lingering toastyness. Pretty tasty, but not your everyday easy drinking beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Reggieís. Good, solid sweet stout. Ar: Caramel/burnt sugar, chocolate and signs of the dominant honey to come. Ap: Creamy brown head w/ good retention. Color was a very deep brown bordering on black, but couldnít be sure in the reddish light of Reggieís. Fl: Creamy coffee au lait, roasted malts, milky sweetness, chocolate pudding and above all, honey. The Mocha aftertaste was pleasant. Improves considerably upon warming up and the honey was delicious.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
As always, the Bells yeast is present. I usually drink the lighter stuff where the yeast kind of overpowers things. Not really the case here. Slippery mouthfeel, deep black color, not a lot of head (probably due to a soapy residue glass). Roasty malt flavor, maybe a little overbalanced in the hop direction. Moderate alcohol presence.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2008 poured a rich black color with a light brown head that didnít last very long. Aroma nice blend of roasted malts and chocolate. Flavor is delicious balance of smooth chocolate and perhaps creamed coffee. Also got some oat flavors mixed with the malt. Wasnít as creamy as I expected, but tasty and easy to drink. Another nice one from Bells.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer poured black body but not as black as other stout, more of a dark brown, and had a lighter head than your typical stout. The nose was coffee, vanilla with a hint of alcohol, overall not a bad stout, will have again, not as heavy as other stouts.
