Bottle sample at a tasting at avrashiís place. Thanks troubles. Dark to black, not opaque, with a small tan head. Roasty aroma with dark chocolate, a bit of coffee and a smoky note. Sweetish and slightly bitterish flavor, roasty, with dark chocolate, a bit of cocoa, some coffee and a finish with some bitterness and a smoky note. Medium-bodied. Very good.

12oz bottle. Light-brown one-finger head, nearly pitch-black color. Was putting this one off for far too long because I feared it would be too rich and thick for the summer, but it turns out that this is perfectly drinkable. Doesnít taste too full, very smooth going down. Wonderfully gradual deep-malt aroma. Roasty, with a sweet aftertaste. Special, indeed.

Bottle thanks to Kosko20. Bottle markeed 8150. Pours a deep brown with a deep head that fades on top of it. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and soot. Tastee is a bit husky with coffee grounds and a bit of lactose. Very creamy mouthfeel with light carbonation.

Bottle at the Bloomington Beer Festival. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma had a sweet creamy chocolate note as well as a roasted malt note. The roasted malts were more present in the flavor with the creamy chocolate flavor relegated to a supporting note. High point was smoothness of the beer, described by one word... Amazing!

Bottle. Very dark brown with old copper penny highlights and a thick tan head. Aroma sets my mouth watering: chocolate liqueur, milk, treacle. Flavour is like liquid brownies from the pan, chocolatey, a little doughy, creamy and delicious.

Pours black, brownish head. Aroma, roasted, some piney hops, malty. Taste, sweet and creamy, light hops and chocolate. Malty, with some nice notes of roastiness. Beer could pass for more than 6.1% and has a nice warming mouthfeel. Aftertaste has some light coffee notes. Gets better with external temperature.

12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. All right, out of the gate, I just have to say that for such a nice beer, people arenít putting any effort into the ratings. This beauty pours a really dark brown, almost black, with a small tan head that leaves some really cool lacing behind. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, earthy hops, dark fruits, coffee, a little smoke, vanilla, and molasses. Flavor of chocolate, fudge, vanilla, earthy hops, berries, grass, sweet roasted malts, metal, and cola. Medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mouthfeel thatís hard to characterize- maybe sweet roasted cherry juice. That doesnít make any sense. Anyway, this is a really nice sweet stout, and Iím starting to wonder if I mix this and Expedition Stout if I will get the highly sought-after beer with such high ratings. Maybe. Expedition Stout is better by itself. Iím going to see what equal parts will do...
