DeadGuyFrank (316), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Feb 17, 2008 Dark brown, thick, sweet malty goodness from the great Bells brewery in Michigan. Nice typical hints of roasted malt and chocolate, coffee undertones. A dessert beer, super tasty but remenber DENSE. A great stout!
mmm///beer (470), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 21, 2008 (Sampled 7-6-08 from 12 oz. bottle poured into shaker) Poured midnight black, non transparent, creamy off tan head formed and stayed to give me some company. Aroma of dark brown chocolate, darkly roasted malts, and heavy cream. Hits the mouth with a high-wide body, malt is moderatly heavy on the tongue, the dark chocolate comes in the middle and transistions itself to a mild cream on the finish with lingering sweet notes. Very mild when compared to the K-zoo stout, but still very enjoyable. BeerBaron617 (80), Novi, Michigan, USA Jul 17, 2008 Another knockout from Bells! 12oz bottle. Pours dark chocolate brown with a dark white head. The aroma is slightly sweet. The tastes is exactly what I expected it to be, double creamy with amazing malt back. It’s beers like this that are quickly making stout my new favorite style. KawaBomber (132), New Jersey, USA Jul 14, 2008 12oz Bottle: Pours virtually black w/ a small brown head. Aroma is of sweet malts & grain. Sweet malts fade into a nice roasted coffee flavor towards the end. Aftertaste is all roasted (yet sweet) malt/mocha flavors. Very smooth & creamy mouthfeel. Yummy! Pawola22 (36), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 12, 2008 12 oz bottle from John’s Grocery.
Aroma: Creamy, chocolate, lots of roasted malt and coffee.
Appearance: Dark, thick, and creamy. Very small, dark, brown head. Pretty lacy. Not a lot of carbonation.
Flavor: Malty, spicy, chocolate, mocha, roasty. Sweet like chocolate milk.
Palate: Very smooth and sweet. Light and malty in the beginning and roasty lingering aftertaste. Not a lot of carbonation.
Overall: Very drinkable, very very good. Sweet and lingering. Very well hidden alcohol. Definitely sweeter and smoother than the Kalamazoo Stout. lightning9191 (46), Christiansburg, Virginia, USA Jul 10, 2008 This beer pours black with little head to speak of. The aromas are chocolate with some hints of coffee...almost a burnt syrup aroma. The flavor is very smooth with big hits of chocolate. There are some definite coffee and caramel flavors. The coffee flavor is the one that seems to linger the longest. The body is medium-heavy with medium carbonation. This is a good sweet stout!
