Sweeter and smoother than Kalamazoo Stout. A beer for special winter occasions. Great with chocolate desserts. Available October-March.

Good cream flavor; reminds of cream soda... the coffee flavor quite stong... roasted malts.

Pour is frothy, color is very dark. Not a bad stout, not very sweet. Chocolately. I guess I should have had this with dessert.

Poured very dark with a thin head. Has a roasty flavor with coffee and chocolate. Finishes way too sour for me.

Good aroma of grains typical of Bells. Head is good. I thought the taste was a little too sour and a little off. Very malty and full though. Pretty good aftertaste of roasted malts and chocolate. A little overrated.

Pitch black with a tinge of dark caramel at the edges. Head is small and dense. Aroma is of strong black coffee and charred malts. On the dry side and medium bodied but smooth. Flavor is strong bitter coffee. Not as sweet as I'd like. Overall pretty good though.

Mixture of coffee and bitter chocolate. A touch watery, but I have found this to happen with many of the Bell's.

Deep inky black appearance. Roasted grain aromas. Small tan head. Fruity and a little thin at first. Light cherry notes, dark chocolate, olives?, medium bodied, but finishes long and slightly bitter, big malt. Decent brew, although I feel this is over-rated.

Interesting, though not my favorite to come out of Kzoo. Pours reasonably thick with a hint of carbonation and little head. Not an exceptional aroma and not suggesting the strong burst of roasted, chocolate, almost mocha coffee-like flavors. I thought this was much more dry than I expected. A bit of tang, almost a hint of sour before the roasted bitterness takes over in the finish. I attribute that to the cream but other than a hint in the aroma and this odd flavor combination, I didn't pick up as much cream as I would have thought (and I've had a good bit of high-quality cream in my day).
