(bottle) Pours like motor oil with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and hints of mocha. Lots of carbonation, clashing with malts, strong cofee presence; unpleasant chalking taste. Slight bitter after taste thats relatively clean. Overated! Try their porter. ________________________________ I take back what I said! Turns out that the reason it tasted chalky is because I drank it out of mulike stein. Much better in an eglish pint. Very good sout. How could I actually consider that this brewery could make a bad stout! My apologies. My original review was a 2.9 overall.

Off taps at Capital Ale House. Dark almost black with small tan fine head. Chocolate and roast malt aroma. Rich creamy body. Moderately bitter and slightly sour with coffee chocolate and roast coming through in the finish

Pours a very silky black, with a very nice head. Very sweet aroma, almost coffee? Taste is sweet and a mildly smokey. A great beer for its style

Pours a nice black color with a thin to normal tan head. Aroma is very sweet, chocolate, and some java notes. Flavor is also very sweet, is much like the description, a sweeter, less bitter/dry kalamazoo stout.

Pours a dark iodine color with thin mocha head. Sweet roasted chocolatey coffee notes with thick, syrupy and very smooth mouth feel. Good to great stout.

Pours a very dark brown with a small, light brown head. Smells like a lighter Kalamazoo. Aroma is lightly sweet chocolate, espresso, and caramel. Taste is good, very creamy, the start is light chocolate, and turns a little bitter sweet as it finishes with some coffee. I guess I was expecting a little more.
