3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one has been in my fridge for a while, and may not have been at its peak (bottled 1/2012). However, I found nothing wrong. It poured dark brown, almost black. Just lacing for the head. It had the aroma of brown sugar, chocolate, and a slight hint of worchestershire sauce/soy. The taste was full, with dark chocolate, a slight taste of molasses and cinnamon, and a smooth finish. It goes down well and easy.

I had this next to 3 Floyd’s Molokolo Stout and Bell’s killed that one! Rich, creamy, notes of bitter chocolate and coffee, a slight bit of sweetness. Two thumbs up. Don’t buy into the 3 Floyd’s mind game!

Packing plenty in for a 6% beer. Sweet chocolate cake, wood and some bitter coffee notes to finish. All in good balance and indeed elegance.
