Draft: Very nearly black....with a small tan head. Cola, chocolate, sweet potato aroma. Taste is more of the same....nicely carbonated.... This one works...really nicely.... Great stuff....

6oz on tap at Keystone in Hyde Park. Near-black color. Some clear red around the edges. Thin tan head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Good-looking stout. Medium-plus body. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Good moderately full mouthfeel for the ABV. Good light spiciness in the aroma. Nice sort of darker chocolate. Sort of subtle sweet potato, but it’s definitely there and it works well with the rest of the beer, the whole thing is pretty well integrated. Light roast. Moderate bitterness, moderate spice. Light sweet. Great stuff, really.. I’m surprised by how much I ended up liking this. Clearly, Bell’s knows stouts. And they’ve done almost every type, apparently. Now sweet potato. Keep ’em coming!

Draft at BottleMixx. Let me preface this by saying I absolutely hate sweet potatoes and was hesitant to try this. Thankfully, it was not like sweet potatoes and was amazing. very nicely done.

OPIE788 (315) - Ohio, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Draft at Bells. Translucent black with not much of a head. Aroma was all sugar, like caramel. I got caramel and very faint hints of sweet potato flavors. This was my first sweet potato beer mainly because i hate sweet potatoes, but this works. Solid beer.

b3shine (5211) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Draft to taster at the Eccentric Cafe. Looks solid; a semi-transparent cola with light beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, sweet potato, and related spices. Tastes like it smells, only better and more well-balanced. Solid on the palate. An interesting spin on the style.

Tap at Bell’s - pours pitch, some head, a trace of lacing. The sweet potatoes are understated leaving a nice sweet brown sugar infused stout.

On draft at Sidetrack. The pour is a dark brown, with minimal head and no lace. The aroma is heavy in cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. The taste is very similar to autumn maple by the Bruery, and disappointing by taste of a stout. The finish is dry, but not stout like. Not drain-pourable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oddly enough, this was my second sweet potato beer of the day. Is this a thing now? Are we all about sweet potatoes now? At any rate, I got a surprisingly dry-ish palate, lots of sweet potato and coffee (an odd combination that kind of worked) , and some chocolate. More coffee and sweet potato in the flavor, too. I liked it.
