COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first & foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt & balance. The fireworks start with the floral aromatic punch of two separate dry-hop sessions with Amarillo and NZ Pacific Jade. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.

Pours a dark copper from a bottle or tap. Big smell of wants about to come in the taste. This beer is very bitter but not in an earthy manner. I think it would be crisper as you do get the usual grapefruit and pine taste but I think a strong off alcohol flavor mutes everything. The body is medium but very stick to your mouth. My favorite brewer and a great style but this one is just fair.

Poured from a 12 fl oz. bottle. Brewed on 8/8/2014. White color, creamy head. Body is murky orange-copper. Aroma is fruity. Peach, apricot, ripened fruit, pale malts, floral hop character. Taste is loads of hop character: floral hops, some pine, tangerine citrus and accompanying zest, mango, peach, boozy orange. Overall awesome beer if you enjoy the style of DIPA.

Draft at brewery. Pours orange with a white head. Leaves lots of lacing in the glass. Solid pine on the nose. Massive pine sol on the tongue. Still manages to finish fairly clean. Hides it’s booze well. It’s a kick in the nuts this beer but sometimes you need that.

Nice hops sniff to it. Color is golden. Citrus malt is heavy on the front of the taste. A nice mellow finish that’s not boozy. Its a good ale, perfect release for fall... Just don’t think it would be a go to, this time of year... Mothers winter grind and breakfast stout... Backwoods bastard when I can find it.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber with a good ivory head cover, sheets of lace. Taste is full-bodied caramel malt that grows well into the palate, adding earth and cedar flavorings. On the swallow, the pine hops enter with aggression, then allow a little of the malt to re-appear as the finish lingers. A big brew, worth searching out.

Good, malty but has a nice hoppy bite

A lightly hazed golden DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with tropical fruits, citrus pulp, floral resinous hops, light sulfur notes, nice. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of tropical fruits, pink grapefruit, floral resinous hops, very nice. Bottle at Syracuse Beer fest November 2014.

Not my favorite DIPA. A little too malty, and closer to a barleywine at 6 weeks old than expected by the great ratings. With that said I prefer a lighter, crisper, hoppier DIPA.

Bottle date 8/14/14. Pine and citrus on the nose. Taste is a nice caramel, nutty malty flavor followed with citrusy hops. The citrus flavor lingers but alcohol is present. Overall, not my favorite dipa but worth a try.

Poured from a 12oz bottle bought in Villa Park, IL. Pours a light gold that is brilliantly clear. Very minimal, mostly creamy head but one that lasts. Aroma is light and fruity with some moderate caramel malt and a touch of raisin. Hops on the nose are of pine and citrus. Flavor is smooth and balanced. Light malty sweetness right up front along with some pronounced citrus rind. Pretty malty with some background alcohol warmth. Huge, resiny hops are apparent from about mid-taste and last through the aftertaste. The taste is also pretty fruity and has a lasting grapefruit character/bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and dry at the end but still pretty juicy. Overall a delightful beer. I’m not typically a DIPA drinker but I’m usually not crazy about the pronounced, lingering bitterness that this beer gives. This beer will grow on you!

12oz bottle shared during the 4000 tasting. Poured a clear bright orange/amber body with a bubbly white head. Aroma is great, citrusy overall, rotting oranges, yellow grapefruit, hop resin, honey, apricot and peach skins, hop juice. Nice palate, medium body smooth, lighter carbonation, dry lingering finish. Flavor of dry citrus, rinds, hopo cones, dry medium done toast, old honey combs. Good stuff.
