Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first & foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt & balance. The fireworks start with the floral aromatic punch of two separate dry-hop sessions with Amarillo and NZ Pacific Jade. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Bottle: Ultra fresh. Hazy amber and copper, slightly translucent. Soapy, foamy, long lasting skimpy white head. Aroma full of earth, grass, dank, wet citrus, hop oils, and some finishing pine. Toasted malt noticeable in the back. Taste is assertive with the up front bitterness than lasts well into the aftertaste. Pines, pungent oils, slightly perfumy, with a grassy and herbal finish. Resiny just a bit. Medium bodied, somewhat sticky mouth feel. Good DIPA thatís actually far more bitter than Hopslam and much less citric. Nice change of pace.

Darn good. Pours a cloudy, pineapple-yellow, with little head. Very floral, fruity aroma. Flavor is intensely bitter, with citrus and fruit, as well as some underlying sweetness. Finish is bitter. Very resinous mouth feel. Glad I could score a couple of bottles...

Strong dank and resinous aroma, pours a clear golden amber with a thin white head. Strong hop forward flavor, with a punch of citrus, pine, and dankness. Thereís just a touch of malt noticeable at the beginning, but it quickly gets overpowered. Thereís a bit of alcohol warmness, with a long lingering bitter finish. This is a solid DIPA, and Iím glad to have some.

Hazy orange with a soapy white head. Skunky pine aroma, lots of tree, resin, some cantaloupe. Aggressively bitter, orange peel, more pine tar. A bit on the stale side (7/31 bootle date, purchased day of release). Honestly reminds me of a Hopslam with more bitterness. Chewy mouthfeel but not horrendously malty. Not bad, I remember it being much better.

Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a medium sized white head.Aroma was citrus hops, pine resin, some light florals, caramel malts. Flavor was pretty malty, with a decent balance of pine notes, grassy notes, some squeezed lemons. Lots of booze on this one, though not offensive. Very warming.

Golden orange, thin lasting white head, good lacing. Aroma is of pine, cedar, some lingering tropical fruits, oranges. Flavour is quite hoppy, malt backbone, alcohol, lots of bitterness, very citrusy. Bitter hoppy mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long and hoppy, warm. I like it but again I guess I just prefer regular IPAíS. †Balanced though.

A- Pours a beautiful sunset orange color with a nice, 1.5 finger off white head. S- Citrus, citrusey fruit, pineapple T- Large citrusey notes up front leading to a sustained grapefruit bitterness and finishing with lingering toasted malt. M- Thick and sticky with medium/low carbonation ... I think a little more carbonation would carry the beer better. D- This is an amazing DIPA. Itís a few months old so iím not sure how different it is fresh but I absolutely love it now. Could drink it all night. Itís worth noting that I liked this one more than I feel the rating reflects however itís weaknesses were weighted more heavily.

I'm liking this better than HopSlam. Has big hops aroma and taste. Has a dry and biting finish. I can dig it.

bottle. hard to believe iíve never rated this as Iíve had it fresher than this bottle. I wish i had logged it when it was fresh but this is old and it is reflected in the score.

Pours to a glowing golden body with a white head. A juicy hop and malt excites the nose. Fruity hops. The flavor is malty and bitter. Hops are bitter and oily.

Orange golden color with decent lacing poured from a tap. Tastes of citrus with hops. Solid ipa.
