4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours darker amber mostly unclear with a beige head. Aroma is light tart and refreshing malt and yeast. Body is low on carb but balanced well with a tart flavor that ends so nicely and smoothly on the palate.

Bell’s The Wild One is quite the enigma. Lots of complexity but with a major drawback. Murky brown pour with a nice foamy head. Lots of aroma of sour fruit. Taste is a complex combination of stone fruit, oak and wine with a solid sour quality that unfortunately fades into a strong vinegar aftertaste (for me) that lasts for HOURS. This one will definitely appeal to sour-heads. While I can appreciate The Wild One, it is too wild for me.

Draft at ITAP Soulard during a StL Craft Beer Week tap take over. Call this brown for lack of anything better. A beige head. This is a very drinkable sour. It brings funk, but it is moderate at best. Wood, bugs, bark, cherries and more dark fruit. Really nicely understated. Malts are pleasant. Berries and plums. Nice complexity. I like this. It does not eat your face off but it is a very enjoyable beer.

Bottle, shared at RBAG 2015 by Kevin, bottle 714 of 826. Burnt orange colour, sour cherries and funk, with a bit of metal on the nose that doesn’t translate to the palate thankfully. Sour fruits, light toffee malts, yoghurty sourness. Closest in style to a Flemish sour brown.

#27 for July 4th... on draft at House for Beer in Port Orange, poured an amber red color with aromas of light vinegar, wet wood, dark fruit and some light musk. Flavors are tart vinegar with some dark fruit, stings the jaw a little.
