COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Per bellsbeer.com/blog , "This One Goes to 11 Ale opens with bright, juicy aromas such as tropical fruits & ripe cherries, largely derived from massive kettle & dry-hop additions of Southern Hemisphere hop varieties such as Galaxy, Motueka, and Summer. The citrus & resinous pine notes of the Pacific Northwest hop family are also well represented, making their presence known through Simcoe, Citra, and the newly released Mosaic varietal, just to name a few. A wide range of specialty malts anchor the hops to this IMPERIAL RED ALE, contrasting the assertive bitterness & juicy aromatics with a robust, toasty depth of flavor. Fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, This One Goes to 11 Ale finishes with a lingering warmth."

Orange-red with enormous, tightly-bubbled head that sticks around for awhile. Big caramel and "red" aroma with piney hops. Flavor is big sweet malts with piney hop kick at the end. No mistaking this as an imperial red ipa hybrid. I wish the malts were a little less sweet, and that the abv was a little better hidden, but this is an imperial, after all. Strong and pretty tasty beer. Would like to try more IPA/red hybrids - Summit’s Horizon was quite tasty in particular.

Pours bronze with a good sized tan head. The aroma has a big malty nose with caramel, earth, bread, berries, tropical fruits, cream, lushness and alcohol warmth. It is very malt forward with hops in the back. The body is fairly thick with a small amount of fairly rough carbonation. The flavor begins very malty with the notes from the aroma, but is quite dry and has hop notes of pine, earth and tropical fruits. The finish has alcohol warmth, dry malt and earthy bitter hops. Nicely done.

Enjoy the huge piney resiny aroma on this one, some sweet caramel and cotton candy. Flavor follows, bit more grassy and biscuity though, booze isn’t huge but it is a sipper, very sticky.

12oz bottle to glass; rec’d in trade from umich03jm. Good beer; just not my style. big pine and grapefruit in aroma. very nice caramel/amber pour. Taste is pine/grapefruit with hops at end and lingering - balanced but too much hops for me (and I hate grapefruit); Thanks for the trade, Jason!!

12oz bottle. Poured a copperish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of juicy citrus, floral, pine, and spicy hoppiness. Tastes of floral hops, citrus, the same spiciness, toasty, and pine. Alcohol content hidden.

Alcohol and malt win over hops. Clear reddish amber. Full mouth feel and fine lacing. Leans to the red, amber, style of beer.

Nice copper color. Aroma is definately hops, mostly spruce, a touch of floral. has a touch of rye IPA smell. Taste is IPA but not as bitter or punchy as the 11% would suggest, I was honestly suprised that this site says 11. Bottle says imperial red, but this is definately an imperial IPA.

(Not a hop lover) 12oz to snifter. 2 month old bottle. I cannot discern hop aromas, but it is very much all hops in the aroma. it is a beautiful deep copper color. The flavor is much like a malty red ale, but with a hop kick in the pants. I actually enjoyed this.

Interesting beer; smells like a DIPA(and it is hoppy)but doesn't have the bite of hops you'd expect. It has a nice boozy warmth at the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a bright amber color. The aroma is mostly hops. The taste is rather mild compared to the aroma. A nice subtle hoppiness that finishes clean. Don’t get much of the base red ale that is suppose to be there which is fine with me. This one is better than I was expecting for sure.
