COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Per bellsbeer.com/blog , "This One Goes to 11 Ale opens with bright, juicy aromas such as tropical fruits & ripe cherries, largely derived from massive kettle & dry-hop additions of Southern Hemisphere hop varieties such as Galaxy, Motueka, and Summer. The citrus & resinous pine notes of the Pacific Northwest hop family are also well represented, making their presence known through Simcoe, Citra, and the newly released Mosaic varietal, just to name a few. A wide range of specialty malts anchor the hops to this IMPERIAL RED ALE, contrasting the assertive bitterness & juicy aromatics with a robust, toasty depth of flavor. Fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, This One Goes to 11 Ale finishes with a lingering warmth."

12oz Bottle. Thanks so much Sean for taking me over the edge. Smell the glove, people, because this beer goes to 11! I’ve really been into strong beers lately, as long as they aren’t ruinously sweet or overly flawed, so I’m taking the dry heat of this beer gracefully. The aroma gives clean alcohol and piney hops. In the middle, there’s some crystal malt, some Bell’s house yeast, and lots of alcohol, which makes it enjoyable sippable on a cool night. However, the hoppiness in the middle is sleepy and the crystal malt too obvious, leaving with you with a less than 11 experience, unfortunately.. A fun inspiration, though.

12 oz. bottle shared at a tasting. Pours a mostly clear, rich gold color with just a bit of red-orange hue and a small eggshell white head. Aroma of big citrus and floral notes, sweet malts, bread, and toasted sugar. Flavor of floral notes, citrus peel, pine resin, caramel, and pineapple. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a resinous, bitter mouthfeel that finishes crisp. Drinks like an imperial IPA. Nice beer.

Sticky sweet, grossly. Piney, citrusy. Full bodied and cloying, damn near sugary. . Yer gonna make something this sweet, balance it with some hops. Better yet, ferment it down a few more points and then hop the shit out of it, ok? Kinda rediculous. Thanks Todd! Bells brews good black beers.

This beer is on tap at Mad mex and what a treat, golden reddish with modest head. Plenty of hops and some good level of malts. the alcohol plays just a little too much but not surprising at this level.

Did not realize this bottle was at 11%. A presentable strong ale, with a good hop and toast aroma inviting me in. This reddish tinged and very heady and lacey offering had a sooth creamy mouthfeel. The hops are there in abundance, but not overally assertive. They linger on the palate. Sizable malt bill backing a big IBU. Good drinkability, the colder weather was appropriate to savor this one.Flanders Red

Bottle. Pours a clear deep caramel gold with a grayish tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of resin with a backing sweet grain note. Flavor starts with syrupy resinous pine with a growing sweet grain and caramel note.
