This beer is on tap at Mad mex and what a treat, golden reddish with modest head. Plenty of hops and some good level of malts. the alcohol plays just a little too much but not surprising at this level.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Did not realize this bottle was at 11%. A presentable strong ale, with a good hop and toast aroma inviting me in. This reddish tinged and very heady and lacey offering had a sooth creamy mouthfeel. The hops are there in abundance, but not overally assertive. They linger on the palate. Sizable malt bill backing a big IBU. Good drinkability, the colder weather was appropriate to savor this one.Flanders Red

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear deep caramel gold with a grayish tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of resin with a backing sweet grain note. Flavor starts with syrupy resinous pine with a growing sweet grain and caramel note.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle courtesy of a thrown in from a Chicago In-Person Trade. Thanks. Never tried or bought this when it came out. Pours a richd deep coppery orange pour. Darker middle, big dark orange glow and haziness. Frothy whitish head atop dies to a loose ring, laces small. Aromas are citrus, dry bready and biscuity malts. Grapefruit, gentle older hops, soap and oranges. A touch of marmalade, toffee, and resiny earthy florals. A firm hopping, a bit deadened with some age. The malt body is firm, but still covered by the hops. Initial is medium bodied, a bit more firm. Dry and biscuity, bready hops, gentle toast, firm citrusy grapefruit and floral hops. Earthy grass, a touch resiny up front. A bit prickly, the more dry edge stays through. Resiny and floral, grapefruit and orange in the middle. A weird medicinal feel into the backend, a bit hot ABVwise, some toast, toffee, and the stickier elements play more into that back. A dry almost spicy finish, earthy dry hops, toast, and biscuits. Heat from the ABV makes it a touch harsh. I get it, Iím just not a fan of these "Letís hop it a ton BUT ALSO make it have a huge sticky malt bill" beers. A bit old. Itís ok, I guess. I wouldnít buy it again though. Looks great. Just a lot of better options in my opinion for my tastes.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle, Whole Foods Columbus. Dark red pour; head dissipates into nothing and canít be resurrected. This one needs to breathe for a while before its glory is revealed. Aroma very sweet and vinous, malty, bready, dark fruit, ethanol, citrus, butter. Flavor is deep and malty but not terribly defined; alcohol presence is clear from opening to finish. Mouthfeel medium thickness but somehow full; slightly oily; light stickiness. Nice beer; the alcohol content isnít on the bottle but I suppose I should have ascertained that it was 11%; from the flavor, this isnít terribly surprising.

Strong scent of grapefruit, strong taste which is slightly disappointing from the good smell, too bitter :-(
