3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer is on tap at Mad mex and what a treat, golden reddish with modest head. Plenty of hops and some good level of malts. the alcohol plays just a little too much but not surprising at this level.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle (why not 11oz?), packaged 9/13/12 (Rating number 1500 for me) - pours cloudy, deep amber with ivory head and capricious lacing. Nose is pine and grapefruit. Sip adds citrus fruit (sweet, tart, sour...), booze and yum. Chewy. Quite bitter to say the least. This will be the last beer I drink until my allergies clear up (yay Ohio River valley). Thank you DrSilverworm for the gifts and allowing me to reach 1500 without having to go to the store.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a bottle dated 9/12/13 into a snifter a golden amber with a thick cream head which dissipated into a nice creamy lace on the glass.
Aroma is very tropical pineapple?
Flavor is sweet malty delicious. Thinking dark cherry citrus. Malt is well balanced with the hoppy finish.
As this brew warms it became even more flavorful. Happy to have held back a bottle. Definitely still a winner.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: Dark Amber Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head, Decent Lacing
S: Molasses, Sweet Bready Malts, Citrus
T: Cherries, Pineapple, Sweet Bready Malts, Piney
M: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Sweet, Mildly Drying
Overall, pretty solid for the style and you dont get the booziness at all with a beer of 11% ABV, that pretty impressive on its own.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: deep amber with some red-ish tones mixed in; creamy, off-white head retains itself nicely and leaves a little bit of lacing along the glass. Aroma is largely fruity; orange, pineapple, and sweet grapefruit flesh, coupled with a large dose of hops. Pines, weeds, and a bit of a resinous finish. Taste is unabashed hoppage up front; pine tree, tangerine, grapefruit, melons, hop oils, and a touch of pineapple. Very good balance of bitterness. Malt is understated, given the size of the beer and the style, but thereís still a big, underlying sweetness, lightly toasty and bordering on caramel but never really getting there. Good balance of bitterness throughout. Awesome beer, one of my favorites in a style I donít typically gravitate towards.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of sweet citrus hop with some malty caramel. Pours red with small white film. Taste is quite bland. Good but tame citrus hop profile. Lots of sugary malt behind it. Too sweet and not hoppy enough. Very disappointing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours reddish amber with a thin beige head and a brown sugar aroma. There is a fruit and molasses flavor with considerable hop bitterness and lots of alcohol heat. Pretty well balanced and quite complex.

Bottle from mixmasterob - thanks a bunch guy. Pours hazy copper with a slight yellowish beige head. Aroma is fruity brown sugar. Med body. Flavor is fruity (light pitted) with brown sugar. Thereís enough hop to play off the malt. Finishes balanced. Not dry, but definitely bitter.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Brown with a bit of a rusty tinge, with a bit of a thin head of foam. Thereís an initially intense, fruity aroma, but it mutes a bit with warmth. The beer drinks with a fun combination of flavors to rival a fruit salad. Itís all backed up with a sturdy, woody, biting maltiness. Good, good stuff. (#5036, 5/26/2013)
