COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Per bellsbeer.com/blog , "This One Goes to 11 Ale opens with bright, juicy aromas such as tropical fruits & ripe cherries, largely derived from massive kettle & dry-hop additions of Southern Hemisphere hop varieties such as Galaxy, Motueka, and Summer. The citrus & resinous pine notes of the Pacific Northwest hop family are also well represented, making their presence known through Simcoe, Citra, and the newly released Mosaic varietal, just to name a few. A wide range of specialty malts anchor the hops to this IMPERIAL RED ALE, contrasting the assertive bitterness & juicy aromatics with a robust, toasty depth of flavor. Fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, This One Goes to 11 Ale finishes with a lingering warmth."

Thanks Adam. The beer is a pretty amber hue, appearing transparent. The head is about an inch thick and leaves a thick ringlet of lace around the pint glass. The aroma offers a large malt bill, followed by pine, resin, hops, alcohol. Slightly fruity in the one as well. The taste, unfortunately, is dominated by alcohol. Hop, malt, and fruity malt flavors are steamrolled by a tidal wave of booze. Medium to full bodied with resinous hops sticking to the palate. Lingering alcoholic heat. Not a repeat for me.

33cl bottle shared at Kenny’s 20K celebrations @Chriso’s, thanks to Kenny. It pours a clean ruby color with a minimal off white head. Aroma is sweet and tangy with notes of apricots vanilla cherries mango raisins. Taste is mostly sweet with some tangy red berries and light almonds. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, nice one

Bottle thanks to Mr 20K Kenny. It pours clear amber with an orange hue and off-white head. The nose is rich, bitter - sweet, dried fruits, fruit cake, dried apricot, stewed orange, candied peel and varnish. The taste is bitter up-front, wood, resinous, varnish, alcohol warmth, toffee, stewed fruits, earth, apricot, peach and bready malts with a warming finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A bit hot perhaps, but good fun.

Bottle share at Kenny’s 20K. Thanks! As ’Bells This One Goes to 11’, 2012 vintage. Hazy dark orange, opaque, small foamy white head, dotted lacing. Aroma is sherbet, orange, some lime and boiled sweets. Very nice. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is tangy fruits, lime, cherry, twig, boiled sweets. A very tasty fruity number. Good.

Bottle at Madmitch 20k tasting. Hazy amber. Lasting white head. Hoppy aroma. Like a hoppy barley wine aroma. Rather a good sweet beer. Good hop. Good enough.

12 oz bottle shared with Jason and Brian. The pour is a brighter reddish brown with a nice collar of head and no lace. The aroma surprisingly hoppy. There is a good malt and a light sweetness that is well received. There is a decent pine and a good bitterness on the back. The flavor is good as well. There is a strong maltiness. Nice bitter hops and a lingering piney resin. The mouth feel is thicker and well carbonated with a good lingering malty finish. It's a legit brew here. Bottle from Tim, thanks man! Appearance is reddish brown with a nice amount of head. Aroma is pine, brown sugar, and sweet caramel malts. Taste is brown sugar, pine, with a hoppy bitter sweet finish. Medium mouthfeel, nice carb. Solid strong ale, malty and big but without the alcohol burn.

Bottle to glass. Sweet label. Pours a slight hazy amber color with a light tan head. Aroma is a very pleasant hop wallop, with floral fruity aromas. Nice malty balance in the flavor. A very nice beer indeed.

From notes. Tasted in December 2012 from a capped 12oz bottle. Pours orange amber with a thick beige head that slowly recedes to fairly thick lace. The nose is quite malty with plenty of earthy and floral hops. The flavor is the same, super malty and very hoppy. The body is full and sticky with average carbonation and a long malty and hoppy finish.
