On tap at. Fieldhouse for PBW. What a way to end PBW 2014! Pours a dark reddish amber brown color with oil slick head. Aroma of smooth cherry, caramel and chocolate. Dark fruit and cherry taste with a heavy bourbon presence. Very well done.

On tap at Time for Bells, pours plum color with not much head or lace. Aromas are more subtle than flavor but I got some whiffs of oak, bourbon, dark cherry, and malt. Flavor was more pronounced with dark sweet fruits mostly cherry, bourbon, wood, and leather. Maybe needed a little more carbonation but solid.

Draft to taster at the Eccentric Cafe. Looks good; a cloudy amberish dark orange with foamy light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; sweet and malty with notes of oak and cherry. Tastes like it smells with a bit of booziness. Average on the palate. Could be smoother, but enjoyable nonetheless.

On tap at Eccetric. Pours a reddish amber with little head. Aromas are strong with cherries and brown sugar. Interesting nose to say the least. Flavor is also really interesting. Almost like cherry cough syrup at times but then at other times it is far more appealing. The late palate cough syrup is a bit of a deal breaker for me though. At the front of the palate the cherries come through clean and crisp but things get muddy as it progresses to an awkward finish.

Dark brown/red pour with a small layer of beige head. Low carbonation, viscous mouthfeel, finish lightly numbing. Sticky syrupy scent, some cherry and molasses, possible sweet bourbon as well, pine-pitchy. Taste is leathery, full of dark fruits and deep smokey wood, very very tart fruits and cherry on finish, with some apparent booze. Alright big beer but conflicting based on personal preferences alone. Will take some palate maturity on my part to enjoy properly, much like scotch.
