COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We started in 1985 with a soup pot, a dream, and quite honestly a prayer. Thank God we made it! Please enjoy this special ale made with Michigan-grown barley malt and celebrate with us.

Bottle (batch 9871) thanks to badnewsbeers. Pours with a thick, slightly hazy, golden brown body with an off-white head that does not last. Hoppy aroma, citrus, booze, sugar, caramel, burnt brown sugar, florals and a light spice. Taste is big, boozy, light dark fruits, burnt flan, very bitter. Kind of waxy feeling. Rotten orange. Caned pineapple. Big, syrupy body, light bubbles. Noticeable alcohol for the ABV. Not my favorite Bell’s beer to be perfectly honest (my score might be generous).

This is a very decadent rich beer. Smells like hops and dark fruits. Sticky but thin mouth feel with a creamy finish. The caramel, dried fruit, and sugar combine for almost a chocolate aspect. A small alcohol whollop come thru.

Bottle. Clear amber pour with a thin tan head. Grainy malt nose with caramel and a bit of floral hops. Grainy malt flavor with lots of caramel and some grassy bitter hops in the finish.

A murky brown pour with fain white head. Sweet malts, bitter hops like I’d expect from an american barlywine. Faint raisins, flat malts, a little bitterness.

Poured a amber with a 2 finger head which dissapated quickly. Reminds me of a belgian ale. Easily drinkable. Sweet, sticky. I would of guessed it to be more than the 8.5%. some toffee notes. I would of thought this would get better ratings. I can drink this all day.

reddish brown with medium white head. nose of citrus and herbal hops. moderate bitterness before a nice amount of hop flavor of the above components., a touch of low crystal with minimal yeast character. a dry finish. a very drinkable, but rather palatable brew, not worthy of an anniversary brew

12 oz bottle. Pours copper with an off-white head. Aroma has citrus hops and caramel with slight berry notes. Flavor has toasty biscuit and caramel, grapefruit, and a touch of red grape, somewhat sweet. Has a nice, but not strong, bitterness. Not a lot of bells (heh) and whistles, just a really well-done beer.

Pours mahogany-tinged copper. Nose is sweet malt with some earthy hops. Medium mouthfeel, crisp, malty and sweet up front and moderately bitter and highly refreshing finish. Not incredibly complex but very good. Flavor profile strikes me as similar to a marzen but a bit stronger and with a hopper finish.

The beer pours a deep copper - orange with a big two finger lasting off white head. The aroma is citrus and grassy hop along with a bready malt which balances nicely. Some hints of caramel as well. its a medium body beer with ample carbonation. This is a well balanced beer that has a nice hop aroma but not overly hoppy. As it warmed I picked up fain aroma of dried dark fruits, vanilla and toffee. The beer is enjoyable from first to last sip.
