COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We started in 1985 with a soup pot, a dream, and quite honestly a prayer. Thank God we made it! Please enjoy this special ale made with Michigan-grown barley malt and celebrate with us.

I’d consider this to be fairly close to an old ale. copper colour with a tight light tan head. aroma is nice fruity citrus hop over a toffee/caramel maltiness. Slightly earthy, hints of white grape juice and melon as well? Flavour brings more of the toffee, some burnt caramel. apple/white grape fruit hints in the finish. Less citrus than the aroma, more floral in the flavour.

Brown pour, off-white head. Hoppy aroma with some citrus. Bitter palate, some hops, some malts. Nothing special.

Worthy of a twenty fifth anniversary brew. Dark amber color and medium body. Some sweetness, almost at barley wine levels. Decent hop bitterness, but well below The Oracle.

Amber pour, white head. Aroma is hoppy. Medium body. Hoppy upfront with a definite sweetness. Syrupy. Some apple flavor. Really good.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, citrus and floral hops, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is the same with a decent bitter finish and a sweet, lasting finish.

Woohoo, found a sixer at Binny’s HP, unfortunately it was like $15. Pours a clear glowing rich but lighter orange with a tall sudsy sticky cream colored frothy head. Aroma of soft toffee, biscuit, caramel ice cream, wet cardboard. Flavor is sharply caramel but not sticky, medium bitterness, toffee, biscuit, sharp sugar sweetness towards the finish, astringent, wet cardboard, burnt popcorn. Not really sure what I’m drinking here... malt liquor? Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, just faintly sticky.

Aroma:Nicely hoppy, some carmalized malt aromas, also some dark fruits in the nose. Appearance:Deep amber in color, low head, low lacing, low retention. Taste:Lots of sweet malt and aggressive on the foretaste. The hops are mostly piney and continue strongly through the midtaste. Also in the midtaste, there are bitter citrus notes, like grapefruit rind. In the aftertaste, I get some strange tea-like flavors. Palate:Medium body, there is some hop astringency in the mid and aftertastes that burn my throat a little. Overall:Overall this beer has what I like to call ’adult’ flavors, a little dark, bitter, with a little bit of sweetness to balance it. As this beer is so new, I think it probably needs to age for a while to let the flavors settle down.

Dogbrick (8664) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 7, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2010 Sample from a bottle at the Day Before Labor Day party. The beer is a deep amber color with a medium fluffy off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, pineapple and piney hops. Medium body with a piney hops character as well as sweet caramel and toasted malt. The finish is hoppy with a ripe fruity aftertaste. Decent beer overall.

On tap at Maduro in Madison, WI, pours a clear amber color with a nice white head, has a great aroma of malt with a mixture of bittering hops, the taste has a perfect balance of sweet malt and hop bitterness with a touch of fruit, man this stuff is awesome, a must have!
