India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Pours golden with a white fluffy head. The lace lasts to the end of the glass. Hop aroma hit me as soon as I opened the bottle. A balanced IPA, neither the malt or the hops over-power each other.

Pours a off yellow with a big fluffy head. The first thing you notice is the hop aroma. I can smell it in the bottle before I ever pour it. Flavor is where the beer loses its points. Sure the hops are in there you can smell them but I canít really taste them. Average IPA at best. This brew actually smells better than it tastes.

I wanted to try this one for a long time. Finally got my hands on a bunch of different Bellís, and this was one that didnt live up to the legend. I notice IPAís definitely lose a bit if they age, maybe I had a bottle past its prime? Very typical light amber colored with a nice thick head. The aroma was of fresh floral hops, taste was a nice balance with a bit of malt midway. Very little bitterness in the aftertaste. Maybe it was good in its prime, but this one tasted average to me... I really wanted this to be so much more!

Pours mostly yellow with a frothy white head that I managed to get about 1 inch over the top off the glass. Very citrucy/grapefruit hop aroma, very powerful as well. Canít seem to smell any malts at all. Oh well. The taste is pretty underwhelming. Itís quite bitter and quite tangy, but aside from a mellow malt body around mid tongue, there really isnít much to taste. Goes down clean and has a pleasent aftertaste tho. Iím a little let down :( Itís tasty, and it sure smells nice, but Iíve definately had better IPAís.

Pours a nice golden amber with thick off-white head. Nice floral hop nose, along with notes of citrus and spice. Full mouthfeel. Grapefruit, lemon zest, pine needles, and black pepper on the tongue. Good bitter hop finish. A really good IPA. Well-ballanced and easy drinking. I want more!

For a style with a lot of competition, this beer truly stands out. It pours a nice, thick head with _layered_ lacing that lasts to the end of the glass. The initial aroma is strongly rosy with a little hop perkiness. The beer is well carbonated and bubbles out quite nicely on the palate. As itís sipped, a unique yet simple maltiness affirms itself, and the floral aromas blend together with citrus tangs and well-pronounced hops and some hard-to-describe nutmeg-like spice elements. In my opinion, the problem with a lot of IPAís (including most of the big ones) is that they simply donít use enough hops to balance the malts and allow the nuances to show through. However, this brew is bold enough to virtually make that statement in its commercial description. The result of this well-balanced brew is that the aftertaste immediately shows the same strong rose aroma as the initial impression -- yet after half a minute or so it evolves into a refreshing lemon, and a couple minutes more itís the typical, generic malt/hop aftertaste, sort of like trainmen on a caboose waving to kids on a bridge - to me, this progression is the highlight of drinking Two Hearted Ale! Perfect for a warm day in May after dropping things off at Goodwill during spring cleaning.

This is a great IPA. Citrus, grapfruit, pine hoppy and malty flavors. Finishes clean, crisp, and dry, Recommended.

Sweet, floral, citusy hop aroma... Golden yellow color with a slight haze.. Good toasty maltiness at first quickly overtaken by the citrusy/hoppy flavor and bitterness. There is a lingering toastiness and bitterness. Medium low body with high carb. Overall this is one of my favorite IPAs to drink. I canít get enough of this beer. It is also one of the beers I continue to try and clone in my homebrewing...

bottle: straight poured into a tulip glass, creating a large white frothy head. light gold (i like gold) cloudy from a good amount of sediment floating in the glass. Smells of a mellow hop, floral, citrusy aroma. There is no incredible hop explosion from this ipa..Fairly carbonated ale, with somewhat of a thin to moderate mouth feel, and a fruity aftertaste. well balanced, but I think i was biased in thinking that it would be bombastic..chill
