India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2005 First off, great aroma. Like a budding boquet of flowers mixed with orange and grapefruit. The flavor is evener bolder. The taste is crisp - beer was bottled only one month ago. Great IPA. This is the beer that made me love beer. Comfort food if you will.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2006 a very cloudy yellowish orange body (great appearance); much carbonation; hoppy notes for both the aroma and flavor, with subtle malts...to the harvest ale i had at founders ales; crisp palate; a perfect hop/malt juxtaposition

Densely clouded yellowy orange hue, moderate head formation. Well pronounced blend of grapefruit and orange in the aroma, with a mild caramel balance. Sharp spicey grapefruit palate, light caramel. Fairly light in body and fizzy. Very appetizing overall but just needed a little more body.

Quite possibly my favorite beer for general consumption. Pours nice, nice big creamy head over a orange-gold hazy liquid. Scents of grapefruit, juniper and hops match well with the first sip in which evergreen and hops flavors become more intense without overpowering maltiness. Slight warmness due to alcohol content makes this a great in winter, while crisp flavoring is nice when itís hot, too. Top notch!

Pours with an orangey tint, hazy with hop sediment, and a lasting ecru head. Overwhelming grapefruit nose with honey and seawater in the background. Happily, the godnotanothercascadeipa aroma belies the fresh, crisp compexity of flavors that follow: butterscotch malt, lemon zest, inviting fruitiness, and gingery peppery spice. Mellow earthy bitter aftertaste with impressions of lemon pepper. Saison-like. Somewhat oily palate is perfectly tempered by prickly carbonation.

Pours orange with a big white head that lasts awhile. Big grapefruit aroma. Well balanced malt/hop flavor with a medium hops finish. Could be a little hoppier but really enjoyed anyway. Could drink this at almost any time. Well done.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2005 Poured a thick, bright white head that dissipated quickly. Fruity....very strong citrus notes that made for a clean finish along with the obvious hoppiness.

(12 oz bottle, obtained in trades with Goblincat and hopsrus, thanks Mike and John!) The nose is lightly malty, but fairly bready, slightly sour and mildy hoppy. But I think the flavor is a bit of a let down after smelling the inviting aroma. This is a pretty light flavored IPA, enjoyable, delicate, but not a big IPA. A light, sweet, bready maltiness leads the way, with some fruitiness and moderately bitter hops for good balance. The claim of "enormous hop additions" seems a bit self inflated if you ask me. Medium bodied. Not exactly clean and crisp because the level of hops isnít all that big. Golden orange color and fairly cloudy. Pours a large, whitish head that is very bubble -- large bubbles, in fact -- and forms craters as it falls away. Dense, intricate lacing is left on the glass.

Very Pleasant and sharp hops. Grapefruit, raw flower and lite grain/grass. Nice medium gold/brown color with a small and lasting head (the last part was surprising to me). The flavor was similar to the aroma at the begining with grapfruit hopw and other citrus straight away. There are some lite malts that help with balance but his is a hopy ale all around. Good.

Wonderful floral hoppy aroma. It has a nice orange colour and an awesome head that sticks around. It is very bitter, yet smooth and easy to drink. It has a nice compliment of malts as well.
