India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

355 ml bottle courtesy of jsquire. Hazy deep golden colour with a lasting frothy and rocky off-white head. Caramel, bread, grapefruit, and other citrus in the aroma. Big malt backbone of caramel, toffee, and bread with a lingering grapefruit and lime accented bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, juicy and refreshing mouthfeel.

On tap @ Buckeye Brewing: Hazy light amber w/ a lasting white head. Grapefruit citrusy hop aroma, as well as caramel malt, alcohol, and some grassy hop notes in the first sniff. Hints of toasty malt; alcohol esters are moderate. Flavor is well balanced to bitter, but not overdone; medium citrusy grapefruit hop; yeasty & toasty malt flavor. Hops in the finish & aftertaste. Finish is semi dry and lightly grassy. Smooth m/f, medium body, low carbonation, and hints of alc. warmth. Very different than the bottled version. Seems more well rounded and less noticeably bitter than the bottle. Definitely more drinkable.

I canít believe I havenít rated this yet because Iíve had this beer more than any other IPA. Pours a golden color with a thick white head. Smells of fresh hops, very citrus like. Tastes smooth and balanced. Highly recommended

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2009 Hops galore and bitter all the way, but still crisp and pretty easy going down. Had on tap recently on Mackinac Island and very good.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 Pours a golden orange hue with a light slightly frothy white head. Aromas of roses, citrus goods, and HOPS... Mouth feel is medium bodied and damn this is bitter... almost like eating a grapefruit or lemon straight. Flavors range from... wait...damn bitterness.... Oh my... of all beers that I have had, none seem to this bitter on the palate. Almost lie the feeling after rinsing your mouth with Listerine. Flavors of oranges, lemons, and, one more time, damn... the bitterness. Mouth feel is light to medium bodied and this brew would probably go well with some heavy foods like a steak or chicken in a heavy sauce. Truly unique in the world of IPAs.

Sparkly burnt orange in color with a thin-but-frothy nearly white head. Highly carbonated. Citrusy, flowery aroma. Extremely crisp, citrusy flavo with floral undertones. Very hoppy without the extreme bitterness in the finish. The fourth Bellís beer Iíve tasted--havenít been disappointed yet!!

Bright head, typical of good quality IPAs. Pleasant looking gold ale . Refreshing hop nose , intense yes but not over the board . Medium bodied , oily texture , very smooth and drinkable . I like the way it was balanced , crisp , clean , well rounded . Well done Guys!

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2007 This beer hit me strong and hard on the first taste. Simply excellent. A hoppy flavor that I hadnít tasted before. I enjoyed the slight fruity aftertaste. This is the best brew I have tasted. I cannot find anything wrong with this one.
