India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Not a hop head so this was much better than I had expected. Hoppy but not over the top, beautiful color, aroma but the flavor! Citrus, malt, crisp... a wonderful beer.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2006 Rerate: Not sure if there is a single beer that I have enjoyed as much over the last couple of years. My desert island beer. My lord this stuff is tasty. My first draught beer (just turned 21). I usually love the bitterness of IPAs, which this doesn’t have, but the stuff was incredible. Had it with a $2.50 large pizza- if anybody is ever in Muncie, IN GO to the Heorot! w00t!

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2006 Poured with a great foamy head, long lasting, great lacing. Color was very light copper, aroma of citrus and malt. Nice rounded body that finished with a hop bite. Very nice beer.

Rerate October ’06. Bottle from Silphium. Medium amber colored with a slight bit of haze. Fantastic white head that is persistant and great lacing. Superb floral hop aroma, bits of sweet malt tickle the olfactory. Medium bodied. Quite delicate in flavor, malty sweetness is gradually overtaken by a citrusy/floral hop flavor. LIngering light bitterness that is never harsh or astringent. This is just one fine beer.

Pours hazy orange with a thick creamy white head. Smells of sweet fruits, some citrus and some granny smith apple. Body is full yet the taste is light, crisp and fruity, apricots, lemon peel, and more granny smith. This is an extremely tasty beer. Much less bitter than many IPAs, making this a very complex and diverse beer. Highly recommended and worthy of the hype!

What a beer! With a appetizing floral aroma and moderate to above average lacing. This beer is so good. In appearance very cloudy, with a very complex taste - full of citrus, malt and others that I cannot identify. The bitter flavor is strong but not overpowering. This beer finishes dramatically with a nice robust fresh hop flavor. This is absolutely, in my opinion, second to none.

A huge head exploded from the pour filling the glass. The creamy head slowly melted into a clear honey colored beer that gave off a beautiful orange citrus aroma. Malt and hops are intertwined in almost perfect harmony. Very smooth. The flavor goes from just slightly malty, to slightly bitter as it enters the finish, which slowly fades inviting another sip. One of the better IPA'a I've tried. A big thanks to Slikwily for sending this my way.

12oz bottle. I smelled the green leafy hops before the first drip hit my glass. A very crisp, green hop aroma, lots of sweet citrus. Nice pale gold color, clear, with a big cotton like head that never went away. The mouthfeel was the best, very soft, good body. The overall flavor was good, but not great (for me). There was a bitter hop finish, but not any real hop BANG that I was expecting. Certainly not over the top. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Bottle. Poured cloudy amber with a fluffy white head that lingered well. Aroma is dominated by floral and citrus hops with a touch of sweetness and hint of clover. Flavor hit me with bitterness right off the bat, big grapefruit hoppiness with touches of sweetness and a little pepper. Lingering pucker for the finish. Medium body and creamy carbonation. Nice ale over all, but I would have liked a bit more boldness in the malts to balance the assertive hops.

12 oz bottle; this is one of those beers that "wowed" me - seriously. I will be buying caseS of this. Beautiful off-orange glow, fantastic hop-aroma, nice hop bite on the tongue and the aftertaste. I would be very happy to enjoy several of these in one sitting. Superb!
