India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

(Draught) Pours a copper color with a medium-sized white head. A light hoppy flavor with a balanced array of floral and bitter accents.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2005 Golden-hued, loaded with millions of microparticles, well carbonated body, and relentless soft lumpy white head. Heavy lacing. Great clean, mouth-watering aroma of orange citrus, flowers, spice, and baking soda. This is a mature and superbly balanced IPA with mild sour notes. Super subtle, crisp, and smooth. A truly great beer. I could drink this forever.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2005 Dec 15, ’03: Served from a beer engine at the Map Room, and at English Ale temperature. Good thin yet persistent head. The hand pull yielded a beer with no bubbles, yet a firm mouthfeel. The IPA hops were actually subdued, nicely balanced between floral and bitter. Somehow I picked up a note of cherries, too. Color is lighter than the usual American IPA, closer to a Vienna or even a Pilsner. I had hoped to get a better impression of Bells than I did at their Eccentric Cafe taproom, and I was right.
Bottled, May 22, ’05. A slightly different experience from a chilled bottle, and no less fascinating. Unfiltered like the other bottled Bell’s, with quite a lot of bits floating around, that don’t detract in the least from the enjoyment. I may have waited a bit too long to open this bottle I got in November, as the floral hops I noted on draft are a little rougher, more piney and northwestern. But just another facet of a fascinating and complex beer.

I believe it was the legendary Indra that hooked me up with this bottle several months ago, Cheers Brother!
Jesus!! This beer looks FINE; it would be a Victoria Secret model if it were a woman! A glowing orange and bronze body, with a pillow of tan frothy head and lacing… The aroma is radiating from the glass, calling me in like a Siren on the ocean.. A mass of pine and cedar woods, caramel to know end, grapefruit and tangerines, brown sugar and rosemary- loads of that!
The flavor is far more refined and settled than the aroma; all of the same characteristics but in moderation. The palate is like a velvet sorbet, fresh pineapple in the finish… Probably the best IPA I have ever sampled, Indra~You Rock! I Want More!!

Light gold pour with a slight haze. Huge head full of large bubbles that are popping away quickly. Not a lot of lacing however. Very nice floral hop aroma, slightly citrusy. I do have to say it has a musty pine quality to it as stated before. Nicely balanced flavors of malt and hops. Lemons are showing through a lot leaving a nice tart finish. Very crisp palate. A wonderful IPA. Thanks to EddieG for this one!

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2014 Clear light orange with a tall soapy white head. Crisp and sharp hop aroma of peaches, scotch and musty pine. Very crisp and light while maintaining an even hop bitterness. Has a nice sweet wood and peach flavor.

May be my favorite IPA, has a great hop/floral aroma, very thick head that stays throughout, pretty complex but great tasting brew

(bottled) Amber colour, with hints of orange. White creamy head. Brutal aroma of citrus and strong spices. Fantastic hoppy flavour with sweet lemon in background. Long bittersweet finish.

Careful pouring this one. Whew! Springy white frothy head, golden/amber color. Aroma is full of citrus, floral, and very very hoppy. The taste is like pure hops. Some unusual fruit as well. Kind of chewy as well. Not much of a kick in the aftertaste as I thought. Overall a pretty good IPA.

Very hoppy, yet somewhat sweet. Great hoppy aroma with some fruitiness - lime maybe? Some white lacing in the glass. Almost done and still hoppy. Very good stuff.
