3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours golden amber, decent head... solid lacing. Ok hop presence with, citrus notes and a piney bite. Little if any malt backbone. I love bells and love IPAs, but am confused with the unmitigated lovefest with this brew. A solid american IPA for sure.... but not on par with the CCB Jai Lais and Alesmiths of the world.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2012 Cloudy golden pour with thin foamy head. Nice soft lacing on the glass. Extremely floral, citrus and orange aroma with good amount of malt on the back end. Medium body, smooth transition to long lasting finish. Good balance of hop and malt. Very well crafted.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear golden pour with light honey hue. Fluffy off-white foam with plenty of lacing. Nice looking beer. All the beautiful smells of a well-made IPA come rushing out. Grapefruit, lemon, floral notes, pine, and pepper all with a strong toasted malt backbone. Damn, does it taste good. Sweet biscuity malts with a kiss of honey, plenty of citrus, and a peppery hop that sticks on the tongue without being overpowering, or too oily. Doesn’t assault your tongue with overwhelming bitterness, but builds up slowly and lingers. After working in a beer store for four years this is one IPA I always recommend customers try first. I am taking a job in the UP and feel as if this beer is a good omen for my move.

This beer is a quintessential ipa.
Off the nose
Biscuit, malt and bread
on the backend:
Sweet, but well balanced
No shitty aftertaste
Good going down
The 7%abv is well masked
I had 4 beers and "feelin' it"
I definitely recommend this beer. This beer is the definition of a well balanced ipa.
I definitely enjoyed this beer. The drinkability exceeded my expectations.

Ok. Would not go out of my way for this. So many other decent brews. This is not in their wheelhouse. Not Hopslam and not a Stout.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
12 oz bottle
Aroma: pleasing mild floral
Appearance: tall, creamy head that lasts and leaves a film on surface and glass; amber orange color, slightly cloudy
Taste: refreshing, pleasant bitterness that’s just right and long lasting; finishes with a suggestion of sweetness. Invites sipping and savoring like an impressive wine.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head. Intense floral aroma with notes of citrus. Flavor is initally sweet but ends with a clean, hop finish. Great balance in this beer. Another winner from Bells.

12 oz bottle - pours a slightly hazy light orange with minimal head that leaves a little bit of lacing - Citrus hops in the aroma and taste - At 7% abv the alcohol is hidden very well and this beer goes down dangerously smooth with a slight bitterness on the palate - As of 11-9-09 the commercial deScription here says "this beer doesn’t have Bells in front of the name by explicit request from the brewer" - well if I was the brewer I would definitely put my name in front of this beer as it is delicious and easy to drink - Mega kudos to the brewer!
