3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. [Thanks to my Secret Santa]
Pours a lightly hazy orange amber with a smallish bubbly/creamy white head. Good lacing. Aroma is brilliant, lots of hops. Lemons, grapefruit, pine, lavender, flowers and a little crystal-maltiness behind it. Low carbonation. Flavour is mildly bitter at first, then expands with a well-balanced malty base of sweetness, then finishes medium dry with a good powerful hop addition. Grapefruit hops are most apparent, so are lemony and grassy hops.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from D&J Liquor in St. Louis, MO. Hazy amber color with a vigorous beige head. Nice aroma of resin and floral hop. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is very hoppy, piney with a hint of grapefruit. Finishes smooth and tasty. There’s enough malt to give the illusion of balance. Why can’t we get this in California?

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: It pours a hazy burnt orange color with a small white head. Some sticky looking lacing as I drink this one.
S: The aroma really blew me away. Loads of citrus hop aroma, sweet tropical fruits, and not much malt--very nice.
T: The taste is very similar to the aroma. A great grapefruit and orange flavor, along with sweet pineapple. The finish is nice and piney, giving a bitterness to balance out the fruit.
M: The beer is medium bodied and has moderate carbonation.
D: I can see why people go nuts over this beer. Such a solid IPA, much more similar to the California IPAs than most other Midwest and East Coast offerings.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle. Outstanding IPA. Rich, dark-amber pour with a firm, off-white head. Aroma of pine and floral hops. Flavor has huge bitterness and yet still strikes the drinker as well-balanced, what with the hearty doses of malts. Mildly resiny mouthfeel and a crisp, sticky, lip-smacking finish.
