3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The aroma is of hop blossoms, FTD flowers, fir trees and freshly ground black pepper.
Hazy, deep golden hue with a large, rocky white head. Mostly, but not fully diminishing with great lacing.
The flavor is that of bitter juniper berries and pine/fir with just a suggestion of the heavy malt and high gravity alcohol.
Full-bodied with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel.
Long, citrisy, bone-dry finish with a woodsy, gin-laden whisper at the far end.
Very nice IPA.

Yeah this is a top notch IPA...Bells does it AGAIN. Beer pours a slightly cloudy golden/orange color with a medium white head. Aromas are hops, pine, and more hops! Flavor is delicious. Hoppy, faint hints on honey, light malt notes, perfect carbonation. Best IPA I have ever had I do believe.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle. Cloudy golden-orange beer topped with 1" of white foam. Hop aroma just spills out of this brew, big sweet orange/pine aroma, a little bit cedary and fruity as well. Almost tropical, but still balanced by some resiny character. Beneath the bright, sweet hop aroma is an equally pleasant slightly earthy sweet malt character. With all of that delicious aroma, you’d think the flavour couldn’t match it, but it does. Sweet pale malt with just a kiss of caramel and bready flavours topped with strong sweet piny and grapefruity hops. Hops aren’t really unusual in their profile but the execution is impeccable. Lingering bitterness. Very tasty brew.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 Bottle @ home, courtesy of bushmat1. Thanks Matt! Glowing, light orange appearance with a white head. Orange/grapefruit citrusy, lightly piney hoppy nose that’s almost like an orange creamsicle. Mildly bitter, moderate orange and grapefruit citrusy hoppy, floral, moderately, sweet pale malty flavor. Sweet, citrus hoppy aftertaste. Excellent!

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2012 Great brew. Aroma is heavy hops with apple and a dash of oak. Pours a dark yellow with a frothy off-white head with excellent lacing. Taste is beautifully IPA with a nice bitter finish over its long duration. Light to medium body, creamy mouthfeel with something just south of lively carbonation. A nice warming finish. Leaves me feeling exceptionally refreshed, I could drink a lot of this stuff!
re-rate courtesy of ucusty:
Pours with a hazy yellow body with an off-white head that leaves strong lacing. Aroma of grapefruity hops, toffee, some apple, lemon hops and a bit of barnyard (odd). Taste is a very malty and balanced IPA. Liveley carbonation. Ar:8 Ap:8 F:8 M:4 O:18 (odd that the re-rate is the same as the original).
Bottle dated 4/25/2012. Consumed 1 month later. Pours with a crystal clear golden hued body with a big frothy white head that leaves good lacing. Aromas are floral, citrusy, grapefruit, tangerine, light pine. Medium iced tea. Light bready, caramel malt structure. Pretty clean ester wise. Flavors are of citrus, pine, grapefruit, corn nuts. A touch too sweet for my tastes, but still pretty good. Medium bitterness overall that doesn’t linger. Hops are still the star, but there is some balance. Medium bodied, slightly fuller carbonation than expected. Pretty solid.
