India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2008 Re-rate 10/19/08:Bottle. Batch 8677. Thanks a lot for this bottle archmik! Clear, maybe very slightly hazy, deep golden color. Aroma has quite a bit of floral hops with some citrus, but also a nice malty tone with caramel and some cookie notes. A sweetish flavor at first with some malt, continues hoppy and bitter with some grapefruit and with caramel lingering in the background. Medium-bodied with a rounded mouthfeel. A very good balanced IPA. 7/4/8/4/15=3.8

Bottle. Hazy orange with a medium white head. Flowery, citrusy, hoppy nose. Flavor starts with sweetish malts, then comes some nice citric hoppiness. A bitter finish with some grapefruit notes. Medium-bodied with a nice mouthfeel. Very good stuff! 8/3/8//16=3.9

The aroma is of hop blossoms, FTD flowers, fir trees and freshly ground black pepper. Hazy, deep golden hue with a large, rocky white head. Mostly, but not fully diminishing with great lacing. The flavor is that of bitter juniper berries and pine/fir with just a suggestion of the heavy malt and high gravity alcohol. Full-bodied with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Long, citrisy, bone-dry finish with a woodsy, gin-laden whisper at the far end. Very nice IPA.

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, grape, floral and hint of pine. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long fruity, slightly dry and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2014 Bottle @ home, courtesy of bushmat1. Thanks Matt! Glowing, light orange appearance with a white head. Orange/grapefruit citrusy, lightly piney hoppy nose thatís almost like an orange creamsicle. Mildly bitter, moderate orange and grapefruit citrusy hoppy, floral, moderately, sweet pale malty flavor. Sweet, citrus hoppy aftertaste. Excellent!

Thank you Yngwie for sharing this great beer! It has been on my wish-list, and Iím not disappointed! Itís warm orange with a nice head and a fruity, hoppy aroma with loads of citrus, tangerine being dominant. The flavour is nice, harmonic and delicious with lots of fruit/citrus, again tangerine is the most dominant. It also has nice caramel notes that balances the bitterness nicely. Itís very charming and harmonic - yummi!!!! 2444

Bottle. Lime, tangerine, and pine hops aroma. Hazy orange-amber with moderate head and nice lacing. Sligntly sweet tangerine flavor quickly followed by moderate pine hops. Strange finish - after swallowing get a watery slightly metallic taste with pine hops returning a few seconds later. Nice that its flavor isnít the typical orange grapefruit.

Clear golden colour with a small white head. Exotic fruits, floral and sweet hops, moderate bitterness and sweetish malt in the stunningly delicious aroma. The flavour is smooth, extremely smooth. Exotic fruity and sweet with balancing maltiness. Perfectly balanced. Smooth and soft carbonation. This is the American IPA at itís best. Incredible. I wanna travel to Kalamazoo...

Hazy amber colour with a small white head. Extremely fruity aroma with exotic fruits and mild bitterness. Very balanced. Fruity and piney hops, moderate bitterness and maltiness in an absolutely tasty flavour. This was the reason I travelled to Kalamazoo...

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 12oz Bottle. Very complex hops flavor. Floral, with spruce taste, maybe some ginger... Plus a lot more things that I canít quite put my finger on. This is the kind of beer that makes me want to keep taking sips just so I can further examine the flavor, itís very interesting. 8 / 5 / 9 / 4 / 17

Re-rate, 2/3/12: On tap. No date sticker on the keg. Clear yellow orange color. Thin white head, leaves good lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation with a crisp finish, more dry texture. Floral hop character, light spruce tips, light citrus (grapefruit). Moderate bitter, with a lightly zesty sweet finish. The hops havenít been as pungent and powerful lately as I remember the from the first couple times, but this is still unique and tasty in that Two Hearted way.
