3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Abraxas Lounge, Miami. It pours golden yellow, with a 1cm white head. The nose is floral, fresh pine and grapefruit. The taste is lemon, lime, grapefruit, pine, resin, floral, some underlying sweetness and grass, with a long bitter-dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Crisp and easy drinking. I wasn’t blown away by this, but still it’s a solid, enjoyable IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange, lightly copper tinted beer with a small white rim. Orange flavour, hops, but not exactly C-hops, but quite aromatic ones all the same. Dry taste, with classical cookie and hopcake, sultanas, keeping long in the flowery taste. Very carbonated for a USA beer, long lasting, bitterish flavours. Very restrained, and therefore excellent drinking ale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap/bottle?I think it was on tap? From Jose Pistolas, Philadelphia 17-11-08 Pours light amber with a really stunning fresh hoppy nose and a great terrapin like snappy bite to it, but there are enough malts to carry this through to make it enormously tasty. There is a nice drying appleyness on the roof of the mouth, its good stuff. A7 A4 F7 P4 OV15

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 12oz Bottle. Very complex hops flavor. Floral, with spruce taste, maybe some ginger... Plus a lot more things that I can’t quite put my finger on. This is the kind of beer that makes me want to keep taking sips just so I can further examine the flavor, it’s very interesting. 8 / 5 / 9 / 4 / 17
Re-rate, 2/3/12: On tap. No date sticker on the keg. Clear yellow orange color. Thin white head, leaves good lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation with a crisp finish, more dry texture. Floral hop character, light spruce tips, light citrus (grapefruit). Moderate bitter, with a lightly zesty sweet finish. The hops haven’t been as pungent and powerful lately as I remember the from the first couple times, but this is still unique and tasty in that Two Hearted way.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2012 Great brew. Aroma is heavy hops with apple and a dash of oak. Pours a dark yellow with a frothy off-white head with excellent lacing. Taste is beautifully IPA with a nice bitter finish over its long duration. Light to medium body, creamy mouthfeel with something just south of lively carbonation. A nice warming finish. Leaves me feeling exceptionally refreshed, I could drink a lot of this stuff!
re-rate courtesy of ucusty:
Pours with a hazy yellow body with an off-white head that leaves strong lacing. Aroma of grapefruity hops, toffee, some apple, lemon hops and a bit of barnyard (odd). Taste is a very malty and balanced IPA. Liveley carbonation. Ar:8 Ap:8 F:8 M:4 O:18 (odd that the re-rate is the same as the original).
Bottle dated 4/25/2012. Consumed 1 month later. Pours with a crystal clear golden hued body with a big frothy white head that leaves good lacing. Aromas are floral, citrusy, grapefruit, tangerine, light pine. Medium iced tea. Light bready, caramel malt structure. Pretty clean ester wise. Flavors are of citrus, pine, grapefruit, corn nuts. A touch too sweet for my tastes, but still pretty good. Medium bitterness overall that doesn’t linger. Hops are still the star, but there is some balance. Medium bodied, slightly fuller carbonation than expected. Pretty solid.

Clear golden colour with a small white head.
Exotic fruits, floral and sweet hops, moderate bitterness and sweetish malt in the stunningly delicious aroma. The flavour is smooth, extremely smooth. Exotic fruity and sweet with balancing maltiness. Perfectly balanced. Smooth and soft carbonation. This is the American IPA at it’s best. Incredible. I wanna travel to Kalamazoo...
Draught at the Bell’s Eccentric Café, Kalamazoo, MI.
Hazy amber colour with a small white head.
Extremely fruity aroma with exotic fruits and mild bitterness. Very balanced. Fruity and piney hops, moderate bitterness and maltiness in an absolutely tasty flavour. This was the reason I travelled to Kalamazoo...

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured orange/off yellow with a nice white head from 12 oz bottle. Aroma thick of flowery and resiny hops. Full palate of flower, resin, and pine with a nice caramel sweetness to balance it with a great lasting bitter finish. Measure this up to the best of IPAs, awesome beer and so glad it’s always around!

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2008 Re-rate 10/19/08:Bottle. Batch 8677. Thanks a lot for this bottle archmik! Clear, maybe very slightly hazy, deep golden color. Aroma has quite a bit of floral hops with some citrus, but also a nice malty tone with caramel and some cookie notes. A sweetish flavor at first with some malt, continues hoppy and bitter with some grapefruit and with caramel lingering in the background. Medium-bodied with a rounded mouthfeel. A very good balanced IPA. 7/4/8/4/15=3.8

Aroma was full of hops bring out a pleasant pine note, while there is an undertone of fruit, a bit of apple perhaps. The flavor was deliciously balance with pine notes as well the slightest sweetness under the bitterness.
