Silphium (2969) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 14, 2008

On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. This appears to be a test batch for the upcoming Christmas Ale. Medium orange-brown, hazy body, medium buff head. Caramely aroma with toast and earthy hops. The body was too flabby and sweet, with soft, sugary caramely malts and hints of toast and dark fruit, dominating the herbal, earthy hops. Not at all crisp or balanced. Too similar to their Amber Ale for my liking.
