On tap at Crunchys. Iím typically not a huge fan of smoky beers, but this lager was light enough to be refreshing. Probably a nice beer for summer time.

(draft @ MacGregorís - Henrietta, NY) Clear gold pour with a thin white head. Very lightly smoked aroma, more dry hops than any sort of smoked malt. Flavor is much the same. Very lightly smoked malt flavor with a dry hop and grassy middle. Some mild smoke in the finish and aftertaste.

Pour on tap, hazy orange-yellow pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of smoke, slight caramel, toffee, hints of grass, pine and slight earth tones in there, some slight bacon like note from the smoke. Taste is a mix of bacon, campfire smoke, hints of grass, orange and cracker, slight spice, caramel, finishing smoky, slightly sweet.

Tap sampler, Bellís Eccentric Cafť, 31/viii/13. Very well done smokey lager, with good body, well hopped. Comes very close to Schlenkerlaís blue lager/Helles.

Half a pint, on tap at The Lackman. Mostly clear yellow orange color. Thin white head. Some ropes and dots of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of softer, lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky finish. Very nice smokey malt aroma to it, light caramel, pretty well-balanced. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Great, well-balanced smoked lager. Enough smoke to satisfy me (I like íem smokey), with some savory taste to accompany that. On par with Aecht Schlenkerlaís marzen, from what I remember, maybe even more smooth

One of the better smoked beers Iíve had. The smoke doesnít hit you over the head...itís just there, balanced with the hops and malts. Bellís got this one right.

4oz pour at Churchkeyís Bells event during DC Beer Week 2013. Pours a clear caramel amber with some wispy white head. Nose is lightly smokey, woody, nuts, fall fruit, some corn. Flavor is well balanced, light smoke, brown make, caramel, bread, lightly nutty, orange. Crisp finish with a hint of smoke. Extremely well balanced.
